The UWA life

IK
9.8 /10

I attended multiple university fairs and applied to 3 universities. I choose UWA over the other 2 universities because of the course that it was offering. I missed minimum scholarship but a very small margin whereas, I was getting 25% scholarship from other universities, still, I choose this because of its reputation, faculty and ranking. I didn't pay any application fees. I scored 83% in my 10th, 84% in my 12 and 3.2 CGPA out of 4 in my undergraduate degree from NMIMS ( no 1 ranking B school in India). I am very happy with my decision.

Course Curriculum :

The course is very well designed, extremely flexible and in good depth. I choose these attributes of the course over money which means it's highly valuable.

Exams :

The flexibility with course units that UWA offered me was unmatched by any other university. There are several lecture timings because of which the ratio of 1 teacher to student is very less. Total credits to complete this course is 96. I gave IELTS and since UWA is a GO8 university there requirement was a total band of 7 on 9 and I scored 7.5.

Placement :

The placements are extremely impressive which is because of the relationships that UWA maintains in all the industries which is hard but UWA does this with ease. All types of job roles have been placed through UWA.

Internship :

My college offers internships opportunities as well. For getting an internship from UWA students have to apply before a given date they are given many industries and companies to choose from. The stipend of all these internships are high. On-campus jobs are also available but they are difficult to get.

Events :

There are multiple events. Like maybe 1 every week at least. Every week has a theme. Sports day, open day, pride week, and loads more

Fees :

There are many scholarships available but they all are merit-based. So if the score is high then $10-20k is easily available. Easy scholarships for Indian students almost everyone gets it which is really impressive. Fee structure constitutes mostly of the tuition fees. And per semester our fees is close to $20,000.

Examination Structure :

There is bar of 60% on the final written exam which means that not more than 60% is given to it. Which makes it a little easy to score, but it is compensated with loads of assignments and projects.

Faculty :

The faculty is very helpful, knowledgeable and understanding. In a class, there are hardly 40 students and attention to all is given. They also invite industry guests who share great learnings.

Hostel :

I live off campus mainly because the on-campus fees Is very high. The fees for on campus accommodation starts from $365 and there are five on campus accommodations. But the facilities they provide is 100% worth $365, like gym, food, laundry, etc. I live off-campus mainly because of very low rent but I do miss out on the facilities.
