Course Curriculum :

Deakin?s Geelong Innovation Precinct has cutting edge research infrastructure and capability in materials engineering and fiber science. It includes the Australian Future Fibres Innovation and Research Centre and the world's leading carbon fiber research line, Carbon Nexus, as well as first-class research facilities for robotics and simulation, energy technology, metals manufacturing, design, and modeling. The Centre for Advanced Design in Engineering Training (CADET) provides some of the best future-focused engineering and design facilities in the Australian university sector and in regional Australia. CADET facilities include additive manufacturing technologies, CNC machining centers, 3D printers, a virtual reality lab, a chemical, corrosives and material lab, a high voltage lab and design and realization studios.

Exams :

I only took the IELTS exam as I needed an English language proficiency course. I didn't appear for any other exams.

Placement :

Deakin has been accredited as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency since 2003. Internship :

An internship is not simply "work experience" - the previous study in the relevant discipline is required for the placement. Each placement is carefully and individually planned with staff within the faculty and overseen by a dedicated academic supervisor. The internship culminates with a written report, which is combined with specific tasks monitored by a supervisor in the workplace.

Scholarship :

Yes, I had a 20% scholarship which made it easier to pay fees. It was offered when I was offered a course at Deakin.

Examination Structure :

Quite comfortable but the exams are lined up one after another so there's not much time to study in between. There will be 15 minutes of reading time at the start of all examinations. Students must not commence writing until advised by the supervisor at the conclusion of reading time. At the conclusion of reading time, students must enter their personal details on the Examination Attendance Slip, which will be collected by the supervisor either during or at the end of the examination.

Faculty :
