Monash University and student engagement

Great course, location (this campus was close to where I lived and made it easy to commute to), a recommendation from friends and family as well as the university having a strong standing in the community in terms of its course offering.

Course Curriculum :

Good. I feel it is a tad fast paced but then again maybe that is the real world. I feel a little more relevance to the ongoing changes in society should be reflected in the curriculum. These can be looking at more social aspects and even in house training on site with employers.

Exams :

Can't recall. In Victoria, they are called VCE and so it was a score based on VCE. I believe I achieved a 90-91 out of 100.

Fees :

HECS debt, ongoing transportation costs, university activities, etc. As a student, you want to be involved but cost and budgeting is a big driver in decision making.

Scholarship :

No, I do not have any form of scholarship or financial aid. The only thing I have been offered as an Australian citizen is HECS.

Examination Structure :

Structured at best but manageable. I feel at times there is a lot of work at once which can be difficult to manage yet at other times it is spread out and allows me to focus my attention on the immediate tasks at hand.

Faculty :

It is well run and efficient. Staff are friendly and always willing to offer study assistance or time for the student which is comforting and shows the university does invest in its people.
