BachBiomed at UniMelb

MK
8.0 /10

Because its the best Uni in my state, Victoria. It also has one of the best medicine programs in the world, which is why I chose it. Additionally, I know a lot of friends who go there, so I wanted to hang out with them.

Course Curriculum :

The Melbourne Model in which a student must complete a Bachelors degree and then proceed to Masters, is a good option, as it allows you to get a sense of everything, and then go into what you like or passionate about. However, it can be quite strenuous and long.

Exams :

IB Diploma Exams - LangLit HL - History HL - Biology HL - Chemistry SL - Mathematics SL - Indonesian Ab

Internship :

Yes, once you complete the 3 year long Bachelors of Biomedicine, you can go into Melbourne's 4 year long MD program, if you qualify. From there, you do your first 2 years at the University, and your next 2 years at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, which I've heard is a great experience.

Fees :

It is quite expensive as I believe my course costs around 30,000 Australian dollars. However, for International students, it can go up to 100,000. I am not aware of any other charges for domestic students such as myself.

Examination Structure :

There are exams every semester. I have 3 subjects for my course and one breadth. For my 3 subjects, I have 3 hour long exams. Some breadths have exams and some don't. The exams are quite important, as they can account to up to 80% of your final grade.

Faculty :

Awesome. I love the small tight-knitted Biomedicine comittee, as it allows you to make friends easier than suppose a Bachelors of Science, which has far more students. The proffessors are also great.
