I wanted to study abroad and Canada being the country on top of my list, I decided to apply at a university there. After doing research about the college here, I got to know about the Schulich School of Business. My good high school grades made the admission easier for me. For my online application, I paid a $150 application fee.

    Fees :

The tuition that I had paid per credit as a full-time student is $1,000. Along with which I had also paid various other fees like health and health counseling, student support service- academic support, career service, community safety, etc. I did not apply for a scholarship due to the late submission of my application.

York University is the only university in Canada with a Space Engineering program. I found the syllabus and courses to be very interesting and this program offered courses pertaining to mechanical, electrical, geomatics, and computer engineering. I had applied to 3 universities in the GTA area but got selected here first. My grade 12 average was 89.5%.

York university is close to my home, it was good for my program and what I want to do in the future. York university is also considered one of the best programs for history something in which I enjoy to do. Teaching is also something I want to get into in which is why I am currently enrolled in the program that I chose

    Fees :

There are many scholarships available to gain at York but they are hard to achieve for students. There have been many cuts recently to Ontario education so payment has been harder for many students as OSAP is not reduced by a considerable amount that affects many families from being able to send a child to university.

York University was easy and cheap to commute to, I had a good reputation there thanks to my older brother, the program I also wanted was there and was a nice area to study Information Technology at especially with the engineering and Com Sci side of York, my average was at 79.4% so it was good for York and got a basic scholarship from them too.

    Fees :

The fee structure is $300 registration deposit for York University, then the cost of the program for one year as a Bachelor of Arts student is $6,980.70 + taxes. For my student loan, which helps me cover my tuition is OSAP which grants me $6,500 but only 4-5k of that is paid back as a loan. The only scholarship I got was the $500 Student Life Award.

It's close to where I wanted to live and it's very easy to get to on public transit. It also has a fairly good ranking within Canada and is in the largest city, meaning it is well known. I wanted to go to a large school to have many opportunities to meet people and explore my interests. When I went on a tour of the campus, everyone was very kind and welcoming. I graduated second in my class in high school and was very lucky to get a scholarship from the university because of that.

    Fees :

The tuition varies based on the program but would usually be around $8,000-$10,000 for domestic students and $15,000-$25,000 for international students. There are many scholarships available, such as automatic entrance scholarships that vary from $1,000 up to $3,500 (renewable for 4 years) based on your high school grades. They also offer many financial need-based scholarships.

I learned about the film production program at York through the Ontario University fair and began the very long and complicated admission process which included essays, references, portfolio submissions, and in-person interviews. York was amongst 7 other programs which I applied to. I have a rich background in film and the arts, graduating high school with a GPA of 92%. After careful consideration, I chose York for it's well-rounded and beneficial program, knowing it would contribute to my academic and professional success.

    Fees :

Fees are dependant on living situations, meal plans, and on the program. As I am not an international student, I am unaware of the scholarships available to such. The York average tuition is approx. $6,980.70. I have applied for OSAP as well as a few other popular scholarships. I have not been awarded any scholarships as of now.

I want to be a teacher and the York University concurrent education program is much easier for me to achieve that goal. I was always interested in applying because it's a university somewhat close to home, but it became my number 1 choice when I heard about the program from a friend. I also applied for York's sociology program and Ryerson's sociology program.

    Fees :

I am getting an OSAP loan, along with $1000 in scholarships. York has a variety of scholarships and I'm sure there are plenty that is offered for international students. Although I should be more interested, I haven't looked into many scholarships and/or bursaries. If I am not mistaken, there's a specific category for international students to find easily.

My friends were already doing their bachelors so they told me about this university, york university is very reputed and it has a good campus, I used to live very close by to the university campus. Easy to get into the university and I got good transfer credit there so I applied into this particular university.

    Fees :

The fee structure was semester wise. Per credit, fees are taken so if your doing 90 credit or 120 credit bachelors your fees changes. You can pay fees in interval also the interests charge on fees are very low. You cannot pay from a credit card it has to be direct deposit from bank, wire transfer or by cheque.

I chose this program due to own personal interest. I found about this college through my old friend in Canada. The admission process as easy as it was online and application fees was around $150 as I applied for 3 colleges in total. In grade 12, My interest was growing in the environment and I finally decided to pursue it.

    Fees :

The fee structure is around $8000 per annual year. I took many loans from the government assistance and personal loans too. The name of the agency was the Ontario student assistance program I took a loan from. I was awarded a scholarship from my own department of environmental science. The amount was around $1000 and it was based on the good standing in academics.

Ans. As both are good colleges, there is no right answer to this question. Humber College ranks #20 and is among the Top 50 Research Colleges in Canada. It is also a lot cheaper if you compare a Humbler diploma and a York degree. If you are comparing equivalent credentials, there might not be a difference at all. A quick check online shows York's domestic undergrad fee to be $7,743. At Humber, a degree is $7,737.84. So tuition wise, there is not too much difference. Humber College also provides 28 undergraduate courses whereas York university has a staggering 106. No. Of scholarships provided by Humber and York is 25 and 27 respectively. As far as degrees are concerned, York would be better known as a degree-granting institution. However, others might value the more practical content of a degree from a community college (technically, Humber is now an Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, but few people know that and still fewer could explain the significance). Here’s a factual comparison between the two: Content Humber College York University Average Attendance Cost $12,924 $24,312 Acceptance Rate 28.4% 50.5% Student Faculty Ratio 98:1 37:1 Exam Score(MIN) IELTS-6 PTE-60 TOEFL-84 GMAT-550 IELTS-6.5 TOEFL-80 Other factors would include the actual program to be studied (perhaps one is better than the other), the locations of the campuses, activities on campus, housing, etc. After weighing all the pros and cons the student has to make the final decision. Keeping in mind your goals and what you want from your future you have to choose carefully and make the best of the option you choose.Read more
