I completed my Engineering degree in India and applied to Canada & Netherlands for this Masters. Since I would like to get an abroad exposure and experience for my studies relating to my knowledge and to develop my skills. And I got the admission in both where I chose Canada over Netherlands. As I found this is student friendly and has welcoming people.

    Fees :

The fee structure of my education including the residence is around 11,000CAD. There is departmental funds but that may get varied in different terms. There are various part-time options for students which they need to figure out as per their timings of class. Most of the opportunities offered are for the undergraduates with few TA/RA positions for graduates.

It was close to home, 4th best uni in Canada for psychology. lots of orientation events and tours of campus, I finished grade 12 with a 90% average. lots of school spirit. I applied to UW and WLU (Brantford and waterloo campus) and got into all three but chose UW because it is so prestigious and innovative.

    Fees :

I paid $6000 for my first term and I'm living off-campus. I received a $5000 scholarship from the university. I have no experience from an international standpoint as I'm a domestic student but I'm sure there are.

I wanted to study abroad so I consulted a study abroad consultancy. They helped me to apply to various universities. And apparently I was selected in two universities. Between them, I chose to study at the University of Waterloo. I had applied for it through a common application form.

    Fees :

I paid around $54500 for the first year tuition fee. Also, the payment of $2290 was also made for the books and supplies. There are many scholarships offered by my university. Some of them are President's Scholarship of Distinction, President's Scholarship, and Merit Scholarship.

I applied for the University of waterloo because of its brand name. Its the most prestigious university in Canada. Its fee is also less when compared to other top-ranking universities in Canada like the University of Toronto or McGill University or the University of British Columbia. Living in the city of waterloo is also cheap. I opted for this program because it was management plus analytics oriented. I had experience in analytics so I decided to groom my management skills by this program.

    Fees :

No scholarship was available for my program. My fee is 13000$ per study term and 940$ per coop work term. I took a loan from HDFC credila. The rate of interest they gave me was 13%. This loan was collateral free so it was a good deal. There are bursaries available too. In case students run into financial crunch bursaries are helpful.

This was one of the Top 20 universities in the world for my field of study, i.e. Mathematics. I applied through an agent from my city, Canam. I applied to 2 universities in Canada, the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto and got into both of them. The application fee was around $150 and My 12th score was 92%.

    Fees :

The fees are $17000 per term with an 8% increase every year. There is an entrance scholarship for international students. I did not avail of any loan. I depended on my parents and my coops for the fees. Coops can pay up to 40% of your total fees. This fee is for international students only. The entrance scholarship ranges from $1000-$5000 depending on your 12th grades.

I applied to 5 universities in Canada, 4 in Ontario and 1 in Alberta. I pinned down to Waterloo from (Trent, Ottawa, Queens) due to its wonderful co-op system and reviews by others. There was an application fee through the OUAC for every university. The process is simple, but I still went through an agent to help me better.

    Fees :

$19,000+ per semester and other expenses. Very minimal scholarships are available in Canada for international students. Some of them include Entrance Scholarship etc. of about 500-2000$. Better to be financially prepared. CO-OP earning and part-time jobs are essential to meet expenses especially for international students.

Excellent reputation as a university in a great city. Variety of programs that give you a solid basis for future programs or careers. I was able to meet all prerequisites when applying from high school. Also, UW gives students the option to participate in co-op - giving you real world work experience while you are still in undergraduate studies. Great university all around.

    Fees :

Fee structure - you are required to pay each term. Residency, books, and other incidentals are on top of the regular tutiton fee structure.Scholarships are available within the faculty of health sciences for achieving a certain grade percentage each term. I was fortunate to be able to receive some of these scholarships when I was in the program. I am not sure of scholarships specifically for International Applicants.

Because I wanted to gain some experience through the co-op program offered by the University Of Waterloo. The other thing that I really liked was how many extracurricular activities that are offered by this school which makes students active.

My fee is usually $16000 per semester as I am an international student. This excludes books and supplies.

    Fees :

The fees can sometimes be quite hight. There is a mandatory co-op fee that is $700 dollars which is a lot.

I find that this university is very expensive especially my program, they charge for the tuition, health fees, they also charge us fees for different groups that are for the students that are run by the university, we are also charged for orientation week fees.

Ques. What percentage is required for an Indian student to get an easy admission to the University of Waterloo?

    ● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 11 Jan 21

Ans. Since Waterloo is one of Canada's as well as world's best universities, there is no easy way getting admitted here. Waterloo’s admission averages range from low 80s to mid-90s. These can vary depending on the number of applications received as well as the number of spaces available in each program. You should already assume that the grades of students who apply will be generally very good. Your requirements will also differ with your nationality or where you’ve studied previously. But most importantly, you should know that grades alone won’t get you inside Waterloo as they take a good look at many other things. Thus, there are some aspects to work on if you're an Indian student wishing to study here: Grades: At Least a minimum of 90% in grade 10 and grade 12 exams. (High school and Intermediate) First or Second Division standing in one of the following. All India Senior School Certificate awarded by CBSE. Indian School Certificate awarded by CISCE. Other pre-university certificate awarded after 12 years of academic studies. English proficiency: Very important to have an IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL iBT score of 90. Admission Information Form: You will need to write an exceptional AIF. This questionnaire gives you a great chance to display everything about you that makes you unique. You can share your extracurricular activities, work experience, volunteering activities and other initiatives.  Euclid Mathematics Contest: Strongly recommended to write the Euclid Mathematics Contest and/or the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest. Results of the contests will be used in scholarship decisions and possibly admission decisions for programs in the Faculty of Mathematics. Additional Factors: An online video interview may be needed, which allows the university to virtually meet you and get a sense of who you are and get a better idea of you. These are the general requirements. Please note that some programs will have different criteria depending on the competition, degree type and program specification. There will not be one way to prepare for your application as the university looks at your whole profile and then takes a decision.Read more

Ques. What is the average GRE for people getting into MSCS of University of Waterloo?

    ● Top Answer By Megha Rohilla on 11 Jan 21

Ans. While GRE is an important factor in MS Computer Science admissions at Cheriton School of Computer Science, there is not a defined cut off. This is because the University of Waterloo accepts or rejects a candidate on the basis of their overall profile. So you should simply not rely only on your strong GRE score as this doesn’t guarantee you admission. This being said, a high GPA, strong academic background with a good GRE score increases your chances of getting admitted.  On an average, it will not be wrong to claim that 75th GRE score percentile is a good GRE score. In simpler words, 161 or higher in GRE quant and 157 or higher in GRE verbal will be a good score. Lower than this will make enrollment in a top University like Waterloo much difficult. The score of GRE quant and GRE verbal contributes towards the overall GRE score, so it recommended to aim for 75 percentile or higher in quant and 60+ percentile in verbal. The competition will be higher since this is a very sought-after subject. If you're from India then the competition is even higher as there are so many talented students applying. So assuming your high GPA, it's better if you do better in Quant as compared to Verbal. This is because the subject of computer science is more oriented towards quant.Read more

Ques. What percentage is required for an Indian student to get an easy admission to the University of Waterloo?

    ● Top Answer By Dhruv Kaushik on 11 Jan 21

Ans. Since Waterloo is one of Canada's as well as the world's best universities, there is no easy way of getting admitted here. You will find that Waterloo’s admission averages range from low 80s to mid-90s. You also need to consider that depending on the number of applications received, the number of spaces available in each program, and the grades of students who apply. Also, if you're an Indian student wishing to study here there are some aspects to work on since competition is tougher for international students because of a great applicant pool from all over the world and limited scholarships for them. Indian Students Requirements Since Indian curriculum is very rote-based without much creativity or practicals, so for you, getting 90s in boards is not enough. You will need much more than being a class topper or one of the best students. In fact, you will notice that these universities don’t always like or admit toppers who are only book smart but are not able to work smart. Extracurriculars: Waterloo looks for leaders and competent sociable engineers in their applicants. This place is all about practical knowledge and not simply theoretical knowledge. Grades: At Least a minimum of 90% in grade 10 and grade 12 exams. Euclid Mathematics Contest: You’re strongly recommended to write the Euclid Mathematics Contest and/or the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest. Results of the contests will be used in scholarship decisions and possibly admission decisions for programs in the Faculty of Mathematics. Additional: An online video interview may be needed, which allows the university to virtually meet you and get a sense of who you are. All these are the general requirements for Indian candidates. However, some programs may have different criteria depending on the competition, degree type and program specification.Read more
