The Heritage College, Canada is the only public anglophone college in Western Quebec. Applications are invited for the fall and winter semester. The admission deadlines for domestic and international applicants are the same. The college offers two-year Pre-University programs, 3-year-Career programs as well as continuing education programs of around one year.

Heritage College Language Requirements

For admissions at the Heritage College international applicants are required to submit proof of the English language. The college accepts TOEFL scores. The minimum requirements are as follows:

Heritage College Admissions

Cegep Heritage College offers career-oriented technical studies through pre-university and career programs. These are DEC, AEC, and other vocational courses. The admissions requirements for international applicants is similar for all these programs. These are briefed below:

Where to Apply: SRAM Online Application

Application Fee: Students are required to pay the non- refundable application fee of $75.

When applying through SRAM extra charges are to be paid for comparative evaluation of studies.

Admission Requirements

For studying at the Heritage college applicant needs to receive a letter of acceptance, a Quebec certificate of acceptance for studies, and a study permit.

Requirements for Letter of Acceptance

  • Students are required to submit the official test scores, high school academic transcripts and certificates.
  • Scores/Grades from past 2 years of high school or senior school should be provided
  • The documents submitted should be in English or French.
  • A comparative evaluation of the studies completed outside Canada should be provided.
  • Birth certificate
  • International Students are required to submit an English proficiency test score for which the scores accepted are.
  • Under the College Education Regulations, students admitted are required to take two French-second-language courses at a college level of proficiency.
  • A letter of recommendation from the home university.
  • Health Certificate

Prerequisites for Quebec Certificate of Acceptance (CAQ) for Studies

  • Submit the application fee
  • Receive the letter of acceptance from the institute in Quebec
  • Applicants must provide an agreement with the conditions of CAQ for studies. The conditions are as follows:
    • The applicant must receive instruction for the level of study for which consent of the MInister is granted.
    • The applicant must agree with making their studies as their principal activity.
  • Applicants must provide proof of financial capacity. The required funds are as follows:
    • Tuition fee
    • Cost of transportation
    • Settling in expenses for the first year (500 CAD)
    • Living expenses for the complete stay
    • Hospitalization insurance and health cost

Requirements for a study permit

After receiving the acceptance letter from the college applicants need to apply for a valid visa in order to study in Canada. In order to study at Heritage, the applicants will require a study permit. To enter Canada students even require a Temporary Residence Visa.

Requirements for a study permit are as follows:

  • A valid passport
  • Application fee (billed in CND)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds
  • Medical examination
  • Biometrics

Temporary Visa Permit

This visa can be both single and multiple entries. The requirements for a temporary residence visa are as follows:

  • Valid passport
  • Specified application fee (billed in CND)
  • The offer of admission received from Heritage.
  • Evidence of sufficient funds
  • Medical exam

Applicants must note that this process can take up to three months.

Letter of acceptance may take up to 3-8 weeks. Additional time should be considered when peak applications are received by the college. The Quebec certificate of acceptance for studies may take up to 6-8 weeks. A study permit may take up to 2-8 weeks with a variation in processing time taken by the home country. International applicants are suggested to apply accordingly and prepare for their arrival by the time of international student orientation dates.
