Lakehead University Admission Deadlines

Canada Visa for International Students

Once an application has been accepted to Lakehead University and has received an offer of admission and paid the required deposit, international students must have a valid study permit for Canada as well as a valid visa or Electronic Travel Authorization to be legally permitted to study in Canada (ETA). FAQs

Ques. Is it possible for me to do the program part-time?

Ans. On a yearly basis, an extremely limited number of part-time seats are offered to students. Because the application procedure is set up so that you must apply to the full-time program, you must send a separate letter of request to the School of Social Work Admissions Coordinator with your application package if you want to be considered for part-time consideration. Part-time classes begin at the same time as full-time classes (early July).

Ques. In another province, I completed two beginning social work courses. Is this something that could help me get in?

Ans. Your beginning social work courses may be given credit, but this will not necessarily help you achieve admission. When applying to the one-year program, you will need to submit your transcripts and course outlines. Ques. Is it possible to defer the program for a year if I get accepted?

Ans. No, you must complete it during the calendar year in which you are accepted. If you turn down the offer, you'll have to reapply for future consideration.

Ans. You will receive an acknowledgment email from Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions with a username and password to access your myInfo account once your application has been processed.
