The main campus of the Marine Institute is located at St.John city with satellite campuses in many other places. The satellite facilities include the offshore safety and survival center (OSSC) in Foxtrap, safety and emergency training center in Stephenville.

The Marine Institute of the Memorial University of Newfoundland provides various types of programs in marine and ocean engineering under its three schools namely school of fisheries, school of maritime studies, and school of ocean technology.
