Offered what I needed, new campus as a branch of UBC in Vancouver but included the small school vibes. The application process included an extensive personal profile but acceptances wasn't solely based on academic marks and achievement. Found that through that experience, they really valued their students and wanted them all to feel welcome and be able to give their gifts in many different ways across their campus.
Course Curriculum :
I am a new student still so I need to fully be immersed before I can give a good opinion but I have heard that it really whips you into shape in terms of what they are teaching you. Class sizes are small so it also gives you a chance to connect to the professor and ensure that you are refining all the knowledge that you should be.
Exams :
I did not have to take any special SAT, ACT or GMATtests to get into this university. There is a large pool of people that want to get in and it depends on the program for how many they take. the minimum score for the first bachelor program was fairly low so I was able to easily exceed it but it was a relief nonetheless. after my undergrad, I would like to pursue another bachelor degree so that, I am sure, will be different in terms of applying.
Placement :
Placements and job opportunities are very good. I have friends that have already been hired before even attending their first day of classes. both I'm their library and bookstore are the largest placement of (at least first year) students.
Internship :
Yes, I haven't been involved in any yet but they have a go global program where you can study abroad that I would love to pursue one day. They have campuses throughout Europe, Australia, as well as a number of Asian countries where you can learn academically and culturally.
Fees :
Interior savings credit union - $1000, Rebecca foundation - $1000, both I had to apply for. one through the COBSS (central Okanagan bursary society) and the other through my own research. included personal profiles and essays to ensure that the right person gets the award. the criteria were that I must use it in my first semester of schooling.
Scholarship :
Yes, I have through COBSS I made my profile and it opened up many scholarship opportunities that I went through and I applied for the ones where I met the criteria and I found out in June if I was successful in any of them.
Examination Structure :
Fairly well done. There is a check-in and they change their large gymnasium to be a exam writing place. the natural light is refreshing and they are all done to standards; stressful nonetheless.
Faculty :
The faculty is very well put together. I have an inside eye on it through my dad but their methods for teaching have been working very well and there is a good student to staff ratio.
Hostel :
I chose to live off-campus and at home because it is a lot cheaper where I live, the housing market is very hot and my family lives within a 15-minute drive from the school. I am able to sometimes ride my bike to save money not using a parking pass as well.
