Life outside comforts

One of my friends had suggested this college. The application process was done by one of the agencies I applied through. I chose this college as it had a 2 years certificate course related to my background. Humber professors bring a wealth of relevant industry experience to the classroom. Class sizes are small, and simulation labs and work placements bridge the gap between classroom and industry. We put theory into practice from day one, which is important because work-integrated learning means you will have experience working in your industry before you graduate.

Exams :

This program was related to my background. This course was a 2 years after which I would get 3 years work permit. The Global Business Management program allows you to prepare for a wide variety of business management careers and gives you the time to decide which is best for you. No business experience, no prerequisite courses required _ just your bachelor's degree and the desire to find your place in the world of business management. I did IELTS and overall scored 7 bands in it.

Placement :

The job opportunity is pretty good. Initially, the college gives you training about how to crack an interview and help set your resume and the rest. At the end of the course, we had about 30-40 companies visiting the college and select suitable candidates. Almost 70% of my classmates were offered jobs.

Internship :

Yes, it does provide internships opportunities. The concerned faculty send you a list of companies every now and then so you can choose from them. You can work up to 20 hours a week if you are on a student permit. The shortlisted companies are sent to you for which you are eligible.

Fees :

The fee structure for international students was generally high. For my 1st semester, I had paid $8000 and the same was for the rest of my 3 semesters. The fees also included medical insurance for international students as well as charges for the books and other resources provided by the college.

Scholarship :

The scholarships are divided throughout our three-semester intakes each year (Winter, Summer, Fall). Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters and statement of interest. New students will receive application details along with their electronic letter of acceptance. The International Entrance Scholarship application form and details are located within the welcome package linked in the acceptance email. Scholarships are competitive and not all scholarship applicants will receive a scholarship.

Faculty :

The faculty was really friendly and provide enough understanding of the course as well as help you to get a job after the competition of the course. The teaching method was in class teaching including the presentations and conducting quizzes.

Hostel :

There are lots of options you can choose from your accommodation. I personally chose to stay as a paying guest. Students also rent an apartment and share the rent and the grocery. Campus hostel also works for some but it was a little expensive for me.
