JJM Medical College Admission

  • Admissions to JJM Medical College, Karnataka are based on the valid scores in the entrance exams. 
  • Eligibility for MBBS courses is 10 + 2 passed with PCMB as the main subjects. The same for MD/ MS courses is MBBS with 50% marks in it. For Diploma and PG Diploma, eligibility criteria are also MBBS passed with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Valid scores in NEET-UG for MBBS, NEET-PG for admissions into MD and MS are the eligibility for these courses. Admissions to Diploma/PG Diploma is done on the basis of Merit in qualifying exam. 

How to apply?

Below are the steps for the application process that the candidate needs to follow to take admission in the courses offered by the college:

  • For admission in MBBS, candidates must have passed 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and for MD/MS/PG Diploma the candidate must have secured 50% marks in the relevant stream of MBBS.
  • First and foremost, the candidate has to appear for the respective entrance exam i.e., NEET UG, NEET PG conducted by the National Test Agency (NTA).
  • After securing the required percentile (or marks in case of Diploma/PG diploma), the candidate needs to register for All India Quota (AIQ) NEET counseling.
  • Applications need to be submitted offline in the college for the courses offered.
  • The completely filled admission form along with the prescribed fees and attested copies of the required documents needs to be sent to the Registrar.

  • Library: With an extensive world-class library containing a total no. of 33,797 books for all the courses offered by the institute, JJMC also has RGUHS Helinet Consortium with access to more than 3500 e-journals, books, and databases. There are other facilities like the audio-visual photography section, 30+ systems, photocopy, and in-house binding section.
  • Hospital: The premises includes an educational institution and a hospital that serves a sizable number of patients every year and as students, the fresh MBBS are required to do an internship in the hospital as well that brushes their skill and knowledge.
  • Hostel: One of the major highlights of JJMMC is hostels. There are 3 different hostels catering to the needs of the students. A girl’s only hostel for PG pursuits is Kaveri Women’s Hostel and for boys in UG, PG & interns there is JJMMC boys hostel. Ques. What are the documents required at the time of application?

Ans. The documents that need to be submitted along with the filled application form and prescribed fees:

Ques. What is the accommodation capacity of the hostel?

Ans. There are 3 different hostels in the premises of JJMC. One fully dedicated to the girls pursuing PG with a total capacity of 138, a boys hostel for PG and interns with a capacity of 239 Double room (UGs), 57 Single rooms (Interns), 180 Single rooms (PGs) and a combined hostel for girls and boys pursuing UG/PG with a capacity of 96 rooms for girls and 88 double rooms for boys.

Ques. Is there any relaxation in minimum required marks for candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories?

Ans. Yes, the institute provides different cut-offs for categories like SC and ST. A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates.

Ques. What facilities are provided to the students in the college hostel?

Ans. The hostels are modern and provide all the basic amenities like television, newspaper, canteen, parking facility, high-speed Wi-Fi, AC rooms, gym, indoor sports, and security guard.

Ques. What are the float, freeze, and withdrawal options on NEET counseling form 2020?

Ans. If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted college in the form and does not want to be considered for any more rounds of the counseling can use the Freeze option. This is also known as the Lock option. On the other hand, if the candidate is satisfied but also wants to be considered for other colleges and rounds, he can use the Float option. Lastly, if the student is not satisfied with allotted college, and does not want to appear for the subsequent rounds, he can use the withdrawal option.
