Hostels provide 4 different types of rooms with varying facilities and appropriate rates. Hostels are well furnished, clean and well maintained. There is an attached mess which provides meals 3 times a day. Hostel fees are moderate considering the facilities provided.
The gender ratio is close to 1:1, the student committee organises various events of extracurricular and cultural significance to show the students the varied Heritage of the state. Hostel facilities during my time at the college were non-existent in the college almost except for 1st year we would live in a bungalow which would accommodate 30 students. The mess was a nightmare with lizards and cockroaches swimming in the food , it was during 2004-2010 so I don't know what's status now.
There was a 60:40 ratio of male to female students. There was no gender discrimination but yes I found some people were racist and discriminating towards North Indians especially from Delhi. Culture was Maharashtrian mostly and 70% students belonged to the state only. Sports were limited to inter college cricket matches mostly, no other sport was given importance till I was in there. Cultural societies were only one which was the Ganesh Festival society and that's about it, though boring I know but most of the medical students don't have time to socialize or do much extracurricular activities.
