Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (VIMS) is an independent medical institute in Bangalore. VIMS offers undergraduate, postgraduate and super-specialty courses. The undergraduate and postgraduate courses include MBBS, MD/MS, BDS, MDS, Nursing, and Paramedical courses. The super specialty courses include DM and M.Ch.

For admission into any of these courses,

  • The candidate must fill in the admission form and submit either by post or in person.
  • They must also have passed the NEET examination and submit the score card along with the form.
  • Selection will be based on merit and selected students may be called for the counselling session.
  • Applicants must take care to submit the necessary documents mentioned in the application form at the time of admission.

VIMS Bangalore MBBS and BDS Admission 2023

Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (VIMS) MBBS is a medical program recognized by the Medical Council of India and has about 250 seats per year. The duration of MBBS extends over 4 ½ years with 9 semesters of six months. The students will also have to attend one-year compulsory rotating internship to be awarded the MBBS degree.

VIMS BDS is recognized by the Dental Council of India and has an intake of 60 students per year.  Admission into this course includes a merit-based selection and follows the Dental Council’s rules and regulations.

VIMS Bangalore B.Sc Nursing & B.Sc Post Basic Nursing Admission 2023

VIMS B.Sc. Nursing is a basic nursing program of four years with an intake of 100 seats per year. VIMS B.Sc. Post Basic Nursing is a two-year program that a candidate can study after a General Nursing & Midwifery course. The program has 40 seats which are filled annually.

Candidate must be 17 years of age

Passed PUC/10+2/Equivalent with science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) and English with an aggregate of 50%. They should pass the subjects individually also.

For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the aggregate must be no less than 40%.

For Vocational HSE, the candidates should have taken a minimum of five subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and the vocational subject.

Foreign nationals must have passed a recognized 10+2/Equivalent examination in their own country.

Preliminary selection will be based on the candidates’ performance in their qualifying examination. Final selection will be based on interview attended by the candidate.
B.Sc. Post Basic Nursing

Passed GNM after 10+2/equivalent examination.

Should be a registered Nurse and registered Midwife/ Equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.

Maximum age limit – 48 years.

Foreign nationals must have a valid certificate of registered nurse by their own country.

Preliminary selection of the candidates into these courses shall be based on the marks of the qualifying examination. Selected candidates will be called for an interview, clearing which will enable them to be admitted into the course. The candidates will also have to remit the necessary fees and produce the original documents at the time of admission.

VIMS Bangalore B.Sc Medical Admission 2023

VIMS B.Sc. Paramedical program offers six streams with a duration of 3 ½ years. The students will also have to finish a six months’ internship to be considered eligible for awarding the degree. Each course has different intake capacity but has a total intake of 80 seats per year.

For admission into any of these courses, the candidate must qualify the entrance examination. Applicants must note that those who have completed diploma/vocational course through correspondence shall not be eligible for any of the paramedical courses.

Candidates shall have passed the vocational higher secondary education by the Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Govt of Kerala with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English along with the vocational subjects conducted.

OR

Candidates with 2-year/3-year diploma in relevant subject from a recognized Govt Board must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as principal subjects. Candidates who want to take lateral entry to the second year for Allied Health Science courses must have passed diploma programme from an RGUHS recognized Govt Boards in the same subject they want to take the lateral entry.

VIMS Bangalore MD/MS & MDS Admission 2023

VIMS MD/MS program offers a variety of specializations. Each course under the program has different intake capacity and has the duration of three years, including the period of examination. Admissions to these two programs involve the students to clear the common entrance examination prescribed by the institution. Two different entrance tests will be conducted for both the management quota and the government quota. Candidates should also clear the NEET (PG) examination to be considered eligible.

VIMS MDS has about nine specializations with the duration that spans around three years. Admissions to these programs follow the same criteria as the other postgraduate medical courses.

VIMS Bangalore M.Sc Nursing & M.Sc Medical Admission 2023

VIMS M.Sc. Nursing is a two-year course with 25 seats. The candidates’ performance in the qualifying examination will serve as the basis for preliminary selection.

VIMS M.Sc. Paramedical courses have three areas of specialization. All the three areas have an equal intake of 5 seats.

The final selection in M.Sc Nursing will be based on the interview conducted by the college authorities. If admitted, the candidates will have to remit their tuition fees as well as any other prescribed fees at the time of admission. VIMS Bangalore DM & M.Ch. Admission 2023

VIMS DM/M.Ch. programs are super specialty courses offered by the institute. Both the courses have the duration of three years including their period of examination. For admission into these two courses, the candidates must pass the necessary Common Entrance Test (CET) depending on whether they are applying for management quota or government quota.

VIMS Bangalore Application Process 2023

All the programs offered by the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre follow the same application process. The admission procedure is slightly different for the medical, nursing and paramedical courses. The candidate can either register online or by buying the Prospectus and Admission form on payment of Rs.400/- in cash or DD in favour of Srinivasa Trust.
