Dumkal College offers BA, B.Com and B.Sc. courses in General and Honours in different disciplines of specializations. The candidates seeking admission in General degree courses must have passed 10+2.

While the candidates seeking admission in Honours courses, must have secured 45% marks in aggregate in 10+2 in relevant subjects with 55% marks in the subject of specialization or 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the relevant subject.

If the candidates have not studied the subject of specialization in 10+2, then candidate must have obtained 55% marks in aggregate.

In case of other boards than West Bengal, a candidate must pass in five recognised subjects, including English, of full marks not less than 100 marks each.

The candidates in any of these UG Programmes are selected on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination.

Key Points to remember for UG Admission:

  • The candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories are given a relaxation of 5% to the aggregate of the qualifying examination.
  • A candidate with only four passed subjects will not be considered for admission.
  • The candidates might be allowed to change the stream after first year as per the guidelines of the university and a subject to availability of seats.
  • The candidates awaiting result of the qualifying examination are eligible to apply for admission of provisional basis.
  • As per the reservation criteria of the University, the SC/ ST candidates would be permitted for a relaxation of upto 25% in comparison to the marks obtained by the candidate admitted last in the General category.
  • The courses are open for candidates of Foreign Nationals with valid student- visa.
  • Candidate will be allowed for admission within three- consecutive year from the year of qualifying examination.
  • Aggregate marks means sum of marks secured in best of five recognised subjects.
  • In general courses, merit list will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks only.
  • For B.A. and B.Sc. (Hons. & General), candidate is required to choose his subject in specialisation along with two/three elective subjects, not more than one from each group.
  • The list of group is given on the official website of college.
  • For candidates who are taking admission in the same year that of qualifying examination, will be given priority of 2% marks deduction in aggregate.

  • Visit the official website and click ‘Online Application’ tab.
  • Fill the information of the last qualifying examination along with the marks obtained in each subject.
  • Submit the completely filled information to move onto the application form.
  • Fill the information in detail correctly and submit it.
  • Pay the application fees online via Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net-banking.
  • Application ID is automatically generated after successful payment.
  • Download the submitted application form along with the payment slip.
  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the online submitted application form.

Note: After completion of Application process within 48 hours, with all school leaving documents (original & photocopy), candidate should visit the college office for collection of Roll No., failing to which will cancel admission.
