What students say about Aligarh College of Engineering and Technology - [ACET]

Likes

  • Its so good to take the exam at AKTU University, and I was very happy to have given all of my exams successfully. It was a good experience.
  • They dont have a good placement cell. Those who take an interest are just wasted. The main thing is that Management doesnt want to invest, they just let you have a degree and go.
  • Our college also provided the placement fair at the end of the semester, through which many students get an opportunity to work directly with companies from the college.
  • There are many policies by which students can receive scholarships, but these scholarships are only available to those students whose monthly salary is less than 80,000 and who are not employed within their family.
  • The infrastructure is excellent in terms of everything, such as games or cafeterias. If I talk about social life on campus, it is also fantastic. The library has any kind of book, including novels.
  • The gates are closed by 7 pm and remain open at 6 am in the morning. The food is awesome, and there are good shelves in the hostel. The staff is well trained and experienced.
  • The infrastructure of the college was excellent; about 60-70% of the students in my batch got placed.

Dislike

  • I joined the computer science and engineering course. The curriculum was devastating for students future, and the faculties are not qualified to teach students. Studies and technology are way beyond the old college campus which is very small - no park, no stadium, no proper library, etc.
  • There was no procedure for internships for any student there; it was a completely privately run college.
  • There are no campus placements, and no decent companies visit our college during the placement drive. Only some call center jobs are offered. Also, the students who were selected in the interviews did not receive all the letters, resulting in no placement.
  • There was no fee hike policy; fees for my course were the same for all semesters, and for me, the cost to study was not fair enough.
  • Life at the college is very boring, hard, and depressing. There is not any kind of freedom or fun in this college. The infrastructure is very poor with no space available other than your classroom. There are no clubs at all.
  • A negative remark is that there are no placements in this college, which results in a decline in college admissions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to be a software engineer because most of my family members are software engineers so, that's why I chose to do this. The faculty ratio of the college would be approx 1 teacher on 70 students. Most of the faculty have done BTech and Mtech with respected college and they are well experienced in their subjects and their teaching method is good. We easily understand their lectures. The duration between the semester exams is an average of 4 to 5 months and this is enough for the preparation of examinations. And the exams are not easy to pass. One has to study hard to pass the exams.

Remarks:

The minimum eligibility to do this course is 12th class with some mandatory subjects like mathematics, physics and chemistry. You have to come to the college to collect the form and the details about the fees and dates etc. No, reservation benefits are available for anyone who get admission to this college. I want that the placements from the college should be fair and increased.
