Elixir. That is the fest that occurs once every 4 years and hence scales up quite a bit. There are many tech fests and hackathons all around the year, which can happen at any given time. Also, there are freshers' welcome events every year. The library is full of books of different domains, which can be issued for 6 months at maximum. At a time, only 6 books can be issued in total. For extracurricular activities, there are cricket and football tournaments, with arrangements for table tennis and carrom on campus. Also, volleyball takes a place on the list. There are many social groups such as Kalakriti(Art Forum) and many others who organize all the events.
The hostel is one place we would avoid. Bad rooms with very bad quality maintenance. Also, 5400 per month is overpriced for a room of four with three very bad quality meals per day, and also to fit four people in a room with wooden walls. The meal quality is very mad, with the meat being one of the worst I have known in my life. Hostel registration takes place in the hostel itself, and for me is overpriced and not very affordable. However, near our college is a PG, called White House PG, located in Loknath Mandir, which is the total opposite, and for only 2000 per month (as of 2023), is a fully furnished room, with adequate space. Also, the owners are very good, and supportive in everything. As for me, I would recommend White House PG but stay away from the hostel, where the rooms stink, with underlighting, and with a very bad culture. I will drop my rented accommodation for review since the hostel is not even worth a star.
no annual fest. only one fest after every 4 years like the world cup. This means you will get one fest in your whole college life. But it will be a grand fest. ELIXIR 2023 is coming (FEST FOR 2019-23 SEASON) The library is too big but filled with outdated books, sometimes you will not get books on your syllabus. But don't worry everything is available on the internet. I didn't visit the library for the last 2.5 years. classrooms are ok there are marker boards and projector. No campus only 3 flat buildings and no playground as well. they hire grounds for annual sports. lots of extracurricular activities on campus, for each activity there are separate clubs and communities, and if you want you can join there. You can find a few groups on Facebook with college names.
our college does not have own hostel. They have tied up hostels for boys and girls ( different obviously ). But the distance between the college and the hostel is too much(walking distance of 20mins ). Colleges have full control over their hostel. Meal: 6k/month for bed and food. 3 meals a day and 2 times tea. Food quality is not good and rooms are quite unhygienic. But you will get a solid environment of engineering life. You will make lots of memories. I have stayed there for 1 year. Now I am in a pg.
At the campus, so many fests are conducted. Elixir is our cultural fest. Techstorm is our tech fest. Intra-college football league is conducted. In our college library, You can get all the important books on technology.
So earlier due to covid, the fest was not happening but in 2022 they started again and the annual fest elixir is happening probably on mar'23. There are enough books in the library. Your need will be fulfilled. But if you're very selective, then you might have to sacrifice a bit. Classrooms have enough windows for air circulation, a board in the center, and benches. It serves the purpose. So they have societies for orators, literature, drama, etc., Where you can take part. Sports are the real charm. They really treat it like a thing. Football, cricket, tennis, basketball, etc. Are major ones and tournaments held? You can find Instagram pages for elixir etc.
For our admission, we were asked to visit their office in Park Street and sign all the necessary papers works. Taking into account, all the paperwork and prospectus, the admission process cost for me was Rs. 74,500. This amount may vary in today's date, with an estimated inflation of 5 % on what I have already stated. To be eligible for Electrical Engineering, I had to score a rank of 27,500 in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). As I had no reservations, I am unclear on the matter. Overall, when taking admission into B.P Poddar, you need to be ready for a physical visit, along with four to five hours of paperwork and waiting, which is the only thing I wish would change. Also, y
RBBy - Rupam BhattacharyaaTo get into BP Poddar institute you have to clear either WBJEE or JEE MAIN. 90 % of the seats are reserved for the Wbjee category and the rest 10% are reserved for jee main category. I took admission in 2019 in B.Tech(IT).In 2019 cut-off was like for cse 15000 and IT 23000 and now the cut-off is going slightly high in current years. No need to apply separately to this college. You have to put the college at the time of counseling and if you get selected you have to go for physical verification and details will be provided by the WBJEE board. There you have to visit and before that, you have to make a payment of 5000. But if you take admission to this college then that amount will be adjust
SBBy - SUBHRADIP BARIKIn our college the admission process is same as other colleges in West Bengal. Here admission process is conducted on the basis of WBJEE exam and JEE Main. For admission process, students have to go Park Street where admission centre is situated but our college is located at VIP road, near Haldirams.
