College of Engineering, Thalassery (COET) established in the year 2000 is among six engineering colleges under CAPE(Co-operative Academy of Professional Education), created by the Government of Kerala.

 Located on a hilltop in Kundoormala near Thalassery town, it has affiliation from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). 

  • COET offers undergraduate in B.Tech which includes courses in 6 streams, with its mechanical and electrical departments being accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. 
  • It also offers post graduation under 2 departments in M.Tech. NRI candidates for B.tech do not need to appear for the CEE.
  • For undergraduate aspirants, it is mandatory to have a higher secondary qualification and to appear for the state's Centralised Entrance Exam(CEE) the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Exam (KEAM)
  • The selection of candidates is based on their rank and score in the CEE.

Those looking to pursue M.Tech at the institute must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology along with a GATE score, if selected for one of the 36 seats available for post-graduation, the candidates can select from 2 specializations.

COE Thalassery B.Tech Admission 2023

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible the candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be an Indian citizen or an NRI.
  • Pass Higher Secondary examination or equivalent.
  • Secure a minimum of 50% in Mathematics separately and 50% in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry combined.
  •  For NRI students a minimum of 45% in Higher Secondary examination.
  • Submission of KEAM result.  

Selection Criteria

Admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in the KEAM conducted by the Government of Kerala.

COE Thalassery B.Tech Seat Allocation

Allocation of seats is done as per rank secured in the state-level Common Entrance Exam. It is as follows:

65 % Allocated by Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) based on reservation policy of Government. 
35 %  Management quota seats allocated by CEE based on merit. 
5 %  Reserved seats for NRI by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE) based on rank.

How to Apply for KEAM?

To apply for KEAM, the candidate has to go through the following steps:

  • Log on to http://www.cee.kerala.gov.in and click the link for the KEAM application.
  • Enter the details required details 
  • Scan and upload photo and signature
  • Pay the application fee, ₹700 for general and ₹300 for SC.
  • Take a print out of both application and fee receipt for future reference.

Documents Required 

The documents to be submitted :

  • Recent passport-sized photograph.
  • Self-attested photocopies of class X and XII mark sheets.
  • Self-attested photocopies of any one of the identity proof- PAN/Voter ID/Aadhar Card/Permanent Driving License, etc.

COE Thalassery M.Tech Admission 2023

College of Engineering and Technology offers admission to the M.Tech course under 2 specializations. Students with B.E/B.Tech degree in the relevant subjects will be eligible for admission to the course.

The student shall pass the eligibility exam conducted by the Kerala govt KEAM in both physics, chemistry section and mathematics. The application form will be available on the official website of CEE. Reservations are available for minority categories.

The eligibility criteria to get admission for the course of BTech in Kerala under APJ ABDUL KALAM UNIVERSITY is to cross the cutoff scores of the entrance examination conducted by the Kerala government that is KEAM.
