What students say about Government College of Engineering - [GCOEA]

Likes

  • The faculty is quite good and experienced, and their teaching method is also good and understandable.
  • You can also make projects in college, and college also supports your project if it is good.
  • Many companies came for placement, and many people were placed and received good packages.
  • There is a scholarship available for backward class students, as well as several scholarships for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students.
  • As it is a government college, people from all diverse backgrounds are present. Extracurricular activities are also held, though not with great efforts.
  • When we were admitted to the college, the hostel had just been renovated, and the infrastructure is good. Its very cheap, costing only 150rs per year.
  • My college is the best according to me because it has the best faculties, best labs, and the best library. Various sports are played in my college, and various events take place every year. Many seminars are held for the betterment of students.

Dislike

  • Teaching is very bad here; neither library is up to date. Many books are not available most of the time.
  • Local companies visited the college, and the average package offered was very low. Anyways, if you belong to CS/IT, then surely youll get placed. However, for core people, we have to prepare for exams.
  • If you have watched any film about college life and think that the same will happen here as well, then you will be very disappointed.
  • If you are unable to get a hostel due to a low score on the MHTCET exam, you can opt for renting rooms near the college.
  • Placements are good. The negative point is the college canteen. Its very, very bad in my opinion. The canteen has very poor facilities provided to the students, such as online payment. Also, it has very poor variety of food.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, Students get eligible for placement. Companies such as Samsung, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Adani, and very more visit for placement many students get placed with satisfying packages. The highest package for extc is 20LPA for 2023 provided by Samsung pass out and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. 70% of students get placed.

Remarks:

You need to have cut-off marks in MHT CET and JEE mains. Admission is done on this basis and you should have scored 75% in the board exam. After the MHT CET exam admission process starts you have to apply through cap rounds of MHT CET if your score fits in the criteria then you can get admitted. Reservation is given to SC/ST/OBC/EWS and disabled children and also to students whose parents are in the army.

By the end of 6th sem, companies start visiting campus. Various core ( LnT, siemens, Reliance, Aker Solutions, adani) and IT(TCS, cognizant, Capgemini, Samsung) come for recruiting students. The highest for the 2022passout batch was by Nvidia ( 15lpa) and the average CTC was 4.5 LPA. Almost 60% of students get placed

Remarks:

Eligibility: 10th and 12th from any government-recognized school After the mht cet exam, we need to fill option form, in that form u can mention this college. Fees vary based on category. The admission process is sorted and simple.

Placement Experience:

I am still in my third year and the placements for cs and its branches are good. It won't be that much but still, it's better to at least have a job when you graduate. But for core branches most of the students rely on companies for placement. Average placement is around 5 LPA and there are a few companies that give dream offers more than 12 LPA.

Remarks:

The admission is mostly done through mht-cet. The cutoff generally ranges from 98 percentile for the cs branch to 80 percentile for core branches. After the declaration of results, admission can be done through cap rounds.

Placement Experience:

The highest package goes up to 20 lakhs. And many companies come for campus placement such as Accenture, Wipro, Samsung, etc. The number of offers is average, not so good. For better opportunities, you have to go for off-campus placements.

Remarks:

After the 11th and 12th, you can give mhtcet exam held every year by the CET cell of the Maharashtra state. You have to register for the exam on the mahacet.org website. After then you will be notified about exam dates and all on the same Website.
