Government Tool Room & Training Centre offers B.E. in Precision Manufacturing and Tool Engineering. The minimum eligibility criterion to apply for B.E. is to have a score of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English in 10+2 from a recognized board.

The selection of the candidates for B.E. is based on KCET  along with the performance of the candidate in the interview.

Key Points:

• The minimum age to apply for undergraduate course in 17 years.
• A relaxation of 5% in the aggregated score is awarded to candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC and other minor categories.
• Candidates belonging to reserved categories like Karnataka bona fide, NCC; Sports; Scouts and Guides; Defence; Ex-defence; Physically Handicapped; Anglo-Indian; Central Armed Police Force; Ex-Central Armed Police Force can claim the allotted seats for the categories. 
• The total intake in B.E. course is 120 candidates.

GTTC offers M.Tech in the specialization of Tool Engineering. The minimum eligibility criterion to apply for M.Tech is to have a score of 50% marks in the Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology.

The final selection of the candidates is done on the basis of GATE score followed by the performance in GD and Interview.

Key Points:

• The candidates in the final year of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Math, Science, Statistics and Computer Applications are also eligible for GATE entrance exam.
• The candidates belonging to OBC category must have the minimum score of 45% while for SC/ ST candidates, it is 40%.
• M.Tech course has an intake of 18 candidates.

The application process is conducted offline. For KCET  entrance exam, the candidates must register themselves online by visiting the official website whereas the candidates seeking admission in M.Tech course must appear for GATE. To enroll themselves for GATE, the candidates must visit GOAPS.

The candidates seeking admission in the course of their choice must apply offline by following the given steps:

1. Visit the college to manually collect the application form.
2. Fill the form correctly and attach the required documents as listed below:
   • SSLC/ 10^th -mark sheet and passing certificate (3 photocopies with original for verification purpose)
   • PUC/ 10+2-mark sheet and passing certificate (3 photocopies with original for verification purpose)
   • Migration and Character certificate, 1 photocopy with original
   • KCET allotment letter, Original with 3 photocopies
   • KCET admit card and fee receipt, Original with 1 photocopy
   • Karnataka domicile certificate of Parents, Original with 2 photocopies
   • Colored Photographs – 5 (4 passport size and 1 stamp sized)
   • Caste Certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC), Original with 2 photocopies
   • Medical Certificate, Original with 1 photocopy.
   • Income Certificate (For fee waiver), 2 photocopies with original for verification
   • Degree Mark Sheet (for M.Tech/ Diploma/ PDTD/ Other short term courses), 3 photocopies with original for verification
   • GATE score card (for M.Tech)
3. Pay INR 500 in Cash for filling the application form.
4. Additional INR 3000 is to be paid at the time of admission towards security against tools and instruments.  

GTTC offers Diploma, PG-Diploma & Short-term Certificate Course under various disciplines. The minimum eligibility criterion to take admission in these courses is to have passed Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or equivalent examination. The candidate must have studied in Karnataka for a period of minimum 5 years and completed SSLC.

Selection of candidates in various Diploma, Post Diploma in Tool Design (PDTD) and other short-term certificate courses is based on Merit-cum roster system.

Key Points:

• Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering is exclusively offered to girls with a total intake of 50 candidates.
• ITI candidates are eligible to take admissions in the 2^nd year of Diploma courses through Lateral Entry scheme.
• 20% of total seats in Diploma courses are reserved for candidates applying under Lateral Entry scheme.
• Many short-term certificate courses are Govt. sponsored, free skill training programs wherein the candidates also earn a stipend up to INR 2000 per month.
