Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College [JNGEC] was established in the year 2006 at Sundernagar, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. It is a government controlled college and is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Technical University [HPTU].

JNGEC B.Tech. Admission 2023

The admission for 4-year B.Tech courses starts around the month of June every year. The admission is based on the marks obtained in their higher secondary examination along with scores in JEE Mains or HPCET exam.

A student must get a minimum aggregate of 45% or above in his HSC examination from Himachal Pradesh Board or any such equivalent examination to be eligible for admission to this course.

Key Points:

  • 50% of the total seats for each course are allocated based on JEE Main scores while the remaining 50% are based on marks obtained in the Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test .

JNGEC B. Tech Lateral Entry Admission 2023

The college also accepts admission for lateral entry directly into 2nd year of engineering. Students who have done their Diploma or B.Sc. in engineering can apply for admission through lateral entry scheme.

  • The admission is based on counselling taking place during the month of July .
  • Students who did their degree in HP are 1st considered and students from other states are called based on the availability of seats.

Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College - [JNGEC] Application Process

The application process is online for admission through competitive exams and payment can be made online or offline through bank.  The application form can be downloaded from the college website or HPTU website from the month of June .

  • Students are required fill the necessary details and attach the required documents in the application form. 
  • For students who do not appear for HPCET exam, must pay application fee of INR 1,550 (General) and INR 1,400 (Reserved). 
  • Students who wrote HPCET exam are not required to pay this fees as it is collected for that test process.
  • An amount of INR 3,000 is to be paid during counselling when students confirm their college and course.

Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College - [JNGEC] Scholarship

  • There are a number of scholarships available for students studying in this college
  • For economically backward students,
    1. SC/ST students with family income less than 2 lpa, monthly stipend of INR 550 is provided
    2. For other reserved and general students whose family income is less than 1 lpa, a stipend of INR 350 is given every month
  • ADHPL Scholarship Scheme for Engineers, students studying in any stream and year of engineering can get INR 20,000 per annum based on their merit scores
  • MPCL Scholarship for Engineers, students who are studying in any field of engineering are eligible to get INR 20,000 per annum based on their merit scores in their exams
  • Students whose parents are employees of ADHPL or MPCL are not eligible, all others are eligible to apply
  • For IRDP families, an amount of 1200 per annum is given as stipend to students.
  • Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojna scheme is available in which students can get INR 70,000 per annum if they have got more than 55% in their 12th exam and are toppers in their streams
  • Based on Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme an amount of INR 24,000 per annum is given to students of engineering fields based on merit

Admission:

the admission took different stages. you have to crack JEE exam and on the basis of the merit list and counseling process, you will get a chance to take admission in the college. There is a different reservation for SCs, STs, EWSs and other backward and there is also a sports quota.
