3rd Semester onward placement program starts with a company presentation and guest lectures. College conduct a huge lot of companies do visit. Also, Mechanical students received a lot of pool campus opportunities if they specifically targeted only mechanical colleges.
Admission to the college is based only on JEE - Eligibility criteria and done through pool counseling for all government colleges based on marks. Fees are very nominal. Yes, reservation benefits can be availed as per the current rule.
Placements at this college are growing day by day. The Training & Placement Cell of the college is working really hard in getting its students placed in good positions. The average package of the college is around 4 lakhs per annum.
For admission to this college, you have to appear in an exam known as WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION. Kalyani Government Engineering College provides admission to only those students who are West Bengal Domiciled and have appeared in WBJEE.
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus visits. Amazon, TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant are the mass recruiters. The highest package is 22 LPA and the average package is 5 LPA. Almost all the students get placed amongst those who opt for campus placement. Rest students including me opt for higher studies(MTech, MBA, MS, etc.).
If one wants to take admission to Kalyani Government Engineering College for B.Tech, the candidate must have qualified 10+2 in science(Subjects must include Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and English) and have at least 60% marks in that. Next, he/she has to secure good marks in WBJEE. GMR 1000 will be enough to be selected for the CSE department of KGEC.
After 6th-semester students become eligible for campus placement. Lots of companies visit our campus. Amazon visited our campus last year. last year almost every student get placed. The highest package last year was around 50 lacs average package you will get 500000. Goldman Sachs, Amazon Infosys, and IBM visit our campus. TCS cognizant Capgemini visit regularly.
Kalyani Government Engineering College offers UG and PG courses in engineering, it offers MCA degrees also. You will get admission to Btech based on your WBJEE rank. The college also offers direct admission in Btech 2nd year through lateral entry courses.20% reserve seats are there for lateral entry. The college offers Mtech courses based on your GATE rank. Admission to BTech lateral entry is based on WBJELET rank. Admission is held in offline mode after covid. The admission process is very smooth.
From the sixth semester, students are eligible for placement. The highest package of our college is 45 LPA and the lowest package of our college is around 3.5 LPA. Around 90 to 95 per cent of students get at least one job.
This is a good college. you have to pass wbjee examination to get into this college. This is a state government college. The college has a good placement record. The teachers are well-educated. Seniors are friendly and very helpful.
