What students say about Govt. Model Engineering College - [MEC] Thrikkakara

Likes

  • It was well good in every sense under the Cochin University of Science and Technology, CUSAT, Cochin. I will recommend you this as one of the best universities for your better future.
  • College did not provide internship opportunities; students had to find internships themselves. However, placements were good, with a placement score of more than 90%.
  • We are proud to have hosted the biggest names in the industry as part of internships and recruitment drives.
  • Our college alumni will provide a scholarship called the XMec Scholarship to those who are good at their studies.
  • The campus life was one of the best experiences I could have in my life.
  • It was a very good hostel for us in every sense, within the college compound. Our college wifi facility was available for us at the hostel itself. It was a memorable time in my life and it will be in my future as well.
  • Also, there is good support from the college for every initiative put forward by students.

Dislike

  • Scholarship and loan facilities were offered by my college, which I knew of and availed. Furthermore, since it was a government college, the fees were less.
  • The campus here is so disgusting that there is not enough space to accommodate all the students in the college.
  • But I was disqualified since the college hostel only hosted a very limited number of seats, and it was so untidy to lead our daily life.
  • One negative remark is that there are not many high-tech facilities like those found in other private colleges, since this college is a government college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I absolutely love the course curriculum and faculty members at my college. When I was deciding on which college to attend and which program to enroll in, I knew that I wanted to choose a school with a strong reputation for its academic programs and knowledgeable faculty. That's why I ultimately chose this college and this course, and I have not been disappointed. One of the things that I appreciate the most about the faculty at my college is their diverse backgrounds and expertise. Each of my professors brings a unique perspective to their teachings and is highly qualified in their field. The student-to-faculty ratio is also very favorable, which means that I have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get one-on-one help when I need it. In terms of the teaching method, I have found that the faculty at my college is very interactive and engaging.

Remarks:

I took The KEAM entrance exam. It usually takes place in June-July and is relatively easy compared to other admission tests in the country. I had a score of 378 which is calculated from physics, chemistry, and mathematics papers. The cut-off rank for the college was 1460 in state merit for computer science and 3843 in the Management category. There is a reservation for different backward communities like BH, EZ, MU, DV, LA, etc.
