National Power Training Institute (NPTI), New Delhi, is a renowned government institution established by the Ministry of Power, Government of India in the year 1974. NPTI, Delhi is one of the 11 institutes of NPTI across the country. The institute is located at BTPS Complex, Badarpur, Mathura Road, New Delhi and has its corporate office at Faridabad. NPTI, New Delhi Admissions

  • Admissions at National Power Training Institute(NPTI), Delhi is purely based on the Common Entrance Test(CET) conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University(GGSIPU).
  • The students opting for B.Tech need to clear JEE MAIN. The admission in B.Tech is based on JEE MAIN Score.
  • Marks obtained in the Entrance Exam will be considered as the selection criteria for Post Diploma and Graduate Engineers courses offered at NPTI.

Admission Procedure

An interested candidate needs to follow the following steps in order to apply in NPTI:-

  • The mode of filling the application form is online in GGSIPU.
  • Interested candidates can get the application form from the official website of GGSIPU after checking the eligibility criteria on the NPIT website
  • Fill in the required details accurately and upload the scanned copies of the documents.
  • After filling the application form successfully, the candidates need to pay the application fees and registration ID and password will be generated.
  • The admit card for the entrance exam will be issued on submitting the application form and fees.
  • Once the CET is conducted, NPTI releases the merit list/cut-offs. The names of the candidates will be displayed in the merit list based on marks/rank. 
  • The candidates who make it to the merit list will have to go for the counselling process where a proper screening of the candidates will be done by an official member.
  • The candidates need to clear the screening test in the counselling process.
  • The screening test is the last stage, and the qualified students can join the course.

Hostel facilities: The hostel has full-time warden to guide students and for day to day management. The hostel premises are located inside high security NTPC Badarpur complex. Fully- furnished rooms with attached washrooms and air cooler/AC facilities are provided. The hostel also facilitates the students with free Wi-Fi system, campus stationary shop, television, newspapers and magazines. Also, there are facilities for indoor and outdoor games like Table tennis, Football, Cricket, etc.

Classrooms: Well-equipped Class rooms with LCD projection system and OHP for imparting formal, theoretical and technical knowledge.

Thermal power plant simulator: The simulator trains to process start-up, optimize the control system and verify process design and study the effects of modifications by altering the model.
