What students say about RCC Institute of Information Technology - [RCCIIT]

Likes

  • In this college, the IT and CSE departments are very good, and the ECE and EE departments are also good and well-established.
  • This college doesnt provide an internship program, but you can always go out and join some training. You wont get any stipend, though, but its good to boost your knowledge.
  • Many reputed companies, such as Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Price Water Coopers (PWC), and IBM, come for their on-campus recruitment from this college.
  • Yes, right. The scholarship programme is there. Also, the loan problem is solved in this college. We are very proud of our college. The students also tell their stories about the start-up plans. The college teachers pay attention to them.
  • Our infrastructure may not be great, but it has always provided us with everything we needed whenever we needed it.
  • There are no hostel facilities in our college. For accommodation, you have to prefer PG or hostel, which is situated about 1km around the college. One option is to rent a flat by sharing with others, which is the best option, I feel.
  • If politics is removed from the college, it is one of the best colleges in WB.

Dislike

  • As I mentioned earlier, I am from the electrical branch, and the condition in this college is too bad due to poor faculty and lack of proper lab facilities.
  • Even though it was worse when we were in our fourth year, only 20-30% of us were placed.
  • Only reservations are available for poor students whose family income is less than a stated amount; their fees are waived based on their financial status.
  • In my college, there are no extracurricular activities. I have already mentioned the labs in a previous question. Additionally, there is no designated sports area. We do have a small space where students can play football, cricket, etc., but it is in poor condition for playing.
  • There is no hostel in our college. I opted for PG (Apornas PG, near traffic guard, Chingrighata). Its monthly rent is 3500. The owners behavior is rude. There is no cleanliness, no hygiene, and hardly any cleaning of rooms by the maids.
  • Positive - doesnt require proper 75 percent attendance. Negative - The infrastructure is bad and the faculty is average. The placement opportunities for core branches are not so good. You have to try hard to get placed, and coding knowledge is necessary as very few core branch recruiters come to our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Information Technology because I always wanted to enter into the Software development field and my WBJEE rank only permitted this stream. There was 1 faculty for every 20 students in my college. The minimum qualification of the faculty was MSC. Their process of teaching was explanatory, teaching difficult topics in a very easy way.

Remarks:

The eligibility was WBJEE Cut off. My WBJEE Rank was approx 28000 and the cut-off for my branch was 30000. The application was done through WBJEE Official website. My college reserves a 10% seats for every course for OBC/SC/ST. Should start taking Personal Interviews before selecting any candidates.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good overall if you are skilled you will be easily placed. Students are eligible for placements in the final year. Cognizant PWC Wipro Tcs Hexaware etc company placement drives were held. The average package offered is 4lpa and the profiles offered are Software Developer, Full stack developer, Salesforce Developer, and Programming Analyst. 70 % of students are placed. I am also placed with 2 offers and looking forward to joining the IT industry.
