R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore was established in the year 1963. It is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The institute is approved by AICTE and all its departments are accredited by NBA, New Delhi. Moreover, it has been ranked 58 among Engineering Colleges in India by NIRF.
RVCE is famous for its 4-year BE course which is offered in 12 specializations. Interested applicants who belong to Karnataka are offered admission into the course based on the KCET score. However, selection of students belonging to other states depends upon COMEDK score.
Apart from BE, candidates can also take admission in M.Tech and MCA provided at PG level. Securing admission in M.Tech requires a valid score in GATE/PGCET while the institute considers the score of KMAT/PGCET exams for MCA.
The application process for KCET is likely to commence in the month of February. The application fee is INR 650/-. The minimum requirement for applying is mentioned as follows:
- Candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 65% in Mathematics and Physics separately.
- Also, they must have obtained at least 70% marks in Maths and Science separately.

- For selecting candidates, R V College of Engineering considers the score of KCET exam for those who belong to the state of Karnataka.
- While for students belonging to other states, selection will depend upon the exams such as COMEDK and any other national entrance test.
- Applicants with a valid rank in the above exams have to appear for the counselling.
- KCET qualified students have to appear in KCET Counselling conducted by KEA and COMEDK qualifiers have to attend the COMEDK Counselling.

To apply for MCA, one must satisfy the following eligibility:
- Candidates must have completed their Graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Programming/ Computer Applications/ Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects.
- Further, they must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for Sc/ST candidates) in their Graduation.
