Ques. Which should I choose: PESIT CS or RVCE CS? Will a VTU degree carry more weight than a new university, although it’s famous for coding culture?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 29 Sept 21

Ans. Last year my brother had the same option between these two institutes. He opted for CSE at PESIT, owing to its brand existing credibility among Bangalore's leading tech firms. PES University has great industry-wide potential. When it comes to hiring outstanding talent, it is still the first choice for many of Bangalore's top companies. According to the recent placement highlights the median CTC offered at the institute is 6 LPA.  PES will also offer you excellent faculties, great research culture, and a good peer learning experience.Read more

Ques. Which college is best for mechanical engineering: RV College Bangalore or Thapar University Patiala?

● Top Answer By Monika on 10 Aug 21

Ans. Having known some people studying in both these colleges, I can say that both RVCE and Thapar University are equal in many aspects. If I have to point out differences then the academics, course curriculum and faculty are better in Thapar than RVCE. Placements wise RVCE gets the benefit of its location, being in Bengaluru and therefore lots of companies visit there. Students are provided with industry visits, seminars and internships. Even though the placement cell of Thapar University manages quite a lot of firms, the opportunities are more in RVCE, Bengaluru. Particulars Mechanical at RVCE Mechanical at Thapar University Total fees 3.9 Lakhs 13.23 Lakhs Placement percent 90% 85% Highest salary INR 28 LPA INR 22 LPA Average salary INR 9 LPA INR 7 LPA Lowest salary INR 4 LPA INR 3 LPA Top recruiters Google, Capgemini, TCS, HCL, LNT, etc. Microsoft, JPMC, Samsung, Adobe, etc. Ultimately it is your decision to make as you have to select the college according to your needs and priorities. Try interacting with ex-students of both these colleges, as they can give you the best view of the colleges, even the underlying details.Read more

Ques. Which is better, IIIT Guwahati (CSE/ECE) or R.V. College of Engineering (CSE/ECE) Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 26 Jul 21

Ans. Among the above two institutes, RV College of Engineering is a better choice if you are interested in either CSE or ECE. The table below gives a brief overview of both the institutes. Particulars RV College of Engineering IIIT Guwahati NIRF ’20 Rankings 70 66 Total Fees (B.Tech) 12 Lakhs 9 Lakhs Median Salary Offered 8 LPA 6.5 LPA Key Highlights: RV College of Engineering is located in Bangalore, which is considered the silicon valley of India. This location is a huge advantage for students in CSE and ECE in terms of exposure and placement. Considering the placements of both institutes, it is very much evident that RV leads in this aspect. All recent placement statistics are available on the internet, which students can easily look after. Although the overall fee of RV College of Engineering is huge, even with a much higher additional expense of living, it will surely give a better return on investment. Usually, students from RV get success in life in a much shorter span of hard work. IIIT Guwahati will definitely give a better living, due to the climate and environment all around the campus. RV College of Engineering is definitely a better choice for both CSE and ECE, offering much better opportunities in placement than IIIT Guwahati.Read more

Ques. What should I choose? NIT Surathkal metallurgy or RV college (top college in Karnataka) CS/Electronics?

● Top Answer By Monika on 06 Jul 21

Ans. Among the choices given in the question, it is always advised to choose the stream of your choice. Although the college also plays an important role. NIT Surathkal provides excellent quality education in all streams of engineering. Considering the fact of education, it is better to choose NIT. Students in NIT Surathkal receive excellent exposure for their future careers. Considering the placements in NIT Surathkal, there are few core companies that visit the metallurgy branch, offering decent packages to students. But, for them, you need to maintain a static decent CGPA score and have good knowledge in the field. There are some software companies too that offer jobs to students in Metallurgy at NIT Surathkal. If you are interested in coding and software development, you can consider those as legitimate options for them. Here are the placement highlights of both institutes. Institute NIT Surathkal RV College of Engineering Average CTC 17 LPA 8 LPA Highest CTC 43 LPA 53 LPA Major Recruiters Fractal Analysis, 09 Solutions Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG India Private Ltd. NIT Surathkal is a better choice, considering the overall outcome that a student will have after graduating from the institute. But, if your interest lies in CS/ ECE, RV College is a better choice.Read more

Ques. Which college has better placements for CSE, RVCE or PES University?

● Top Answer By Admin on 03 Jul 21

Ans. RV College of Engineering (RVCE) is definitely better than PES University. The below table shows the placement stats of the B.Tech programs of both colleges for the year 2020. Institute PES University RV College of Engineering Number of companies visited - 245 Number of offers made 1185 1336 Highest salary INR 49.75 lakhs per annum INR 49.75 lakhs per annum Median salary INR 6.50 lakhs per annum INR 8.50 lakhs per annum RVCE additionally states that the CSE branch received 250 job offers in the year 2020. Apart from the usual mass recruiters many top MNCs such as Hyundai, Mercedes, Volvo, Intel, and Microsoft, etc. also visit the campus for placements. Along with that, there are many other factors that make RVCE better than PES University – Infrastructure - It is one of the oldest private engineering colleges in the state with lush green and well-maintained campus. Though it is not very big, it is located in the center of the city. Faculty - The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:60 making learning quite easy. Most of them have done PhDs from elite institutes. The curriculum is well balanced and all the necessary equipment and lab are in proper shape. Other - The college has the biggest IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) chapter in the whole of south India. The annual fest UTSAV is also very famous in the region. So you can join RVCE without any second thought and you will not regret your decision.Read more
