What students say about Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering - [SVCE]

Likes

  • The course curriculum is good, and exams were held on time in our college. The course curriculum is up-to-date, and exams are held through semesters. We have 8 semesters in 4 years, and exams are done fairly.
  • To be very frank and honest, I didnt get any stipend, but the internship experience was awesome.
  • Placements are the best here. People who enter here surely exit with a reputable company holding them for a good job and a high annual income. Life is settled if they join this institution. I am very proud of my institution.
  • Yeah, the students who have joined under the convenor (by the government) can receive a good scholarship.
  • As I was the secretary of that student club, it was really a wonderful experience for me. Organizing events is one of my best hobbies.
  • I was a day scholar, so I do not have a good idea of hostel life, but based on my friends experiences, it is average. They provide good facilities for studying for students.
  • In our surroundings, our college was the best in education, celebrating fests and sports as well.

Dislike

  • Choosing any course is difficult, and the exams follow the unfortunate rule of VTU University, which is very bad.
  • The placement in this college was very poor, mainly due to the inadequate performance of the placement officer. The college management should take responsibility for this. It was truly a terrible experience regarding the placement activities at SVCE.
  • The college does not provide any scholarships for students, so it is a bit difficult for poor students.
  • They have an annual sports meet every year, but they just do it as a formality.
  • The hostel quality was good, but the food was bad. Only South Indian dishes were served, and the food served to us was very bad.
  • They were such arrogant teachers. The management was all bad. They always showed favoritism between locals and outsiders.

Placement Experience:

The major placement cycle begins in your third year where all of the students are encouraged to enrol in various placement training courses. Then during the 7th sem, the first round of placements begin and in my class, most of them got placed in their 7th sem itself. A lot of companies visit the campus including TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Nokia, NTT Data, Sonata Software, 6D Tech, EY, Gyansys, Mphasis, Kaar Tech, Legato, Software AG, Sasken, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Jaro, Hexaware and Accenture to name a few. Overall 50+ companies visited and 170+ offers were made during the first cycle. The average was around 3.5 lpa and the highest offer was 10 lpa. In my batch of 180 students, 100% got placed and overall 90%+ students got placed eventually. I got the placement at TCS and was also in the final stages of two other companies but I was planning to do an MBA therefore I did not accept the offers.

Remarks:

The admission process is quite simple. I got admission through Comed-K entrance exam. The seat was available through Comed-K. To be eligible you need to have passed in both your 10th and 12th with minimum percentage of marks. There is not specific cutoff for the Comed-K but it totally depends on the availability of seats and the demand of the college at the time. You will have to visit the college once and ask the students there about the college for more satisfaction. To fill the application you'll have to request one from the front desk office of the college or contact them and find out if the application is available online. But I'd recommend personally going to the college and seeing if you connect with it. Other than that the admission process is straightforward and there will not be many hassles along the way.
