St. Xavier Catholic College of Engineering is a private college owned by Roman Catholic Diocese of Kuzhithurai. It is located in Chunkankadai, Kanyakumari District, Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is AICTE and UGC approved college. MBA Program provided in the college has permanent affiliation from the Anna University.

The college has six graduates and 12 post-graduate programs. The college also has six university-recognized research departments.

SXCCE Admission Procedure

  1. Candidates before applying must check for the eligibility criteria and if everything works out then an online application form is available.
  2. Application for admission should be made in the prescribed form available along with the prospectus. The stipulated non-refundable registration fee should be remitted while submitting filled in the application.
  3. Candidates will have to submit their original certificates which will be further scrutinized. If all the documents will be in order then the application form will be accepted and a challan will be given.
  4. Once the counterfoil of paid challans is returned, admission card will be issued.

SXCCE Selection Criteria:

Candidates applying for B.Tech\B.E will be required to appear for a state-level exam TNEA.

  1. The willing candidates will have to fill the form of Tamil Nadu Engineering Entrance Exam before the due date.
  2. After filling the application students will have to appear in the entrance exam.
  3. Entrance Exam Pattern is as follows:
  • Number of Questions: 150
  • Total Marks: 150
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Subjects: Physics Chemistry and Maths
  • Negative Marking: No Negative Marking

Candidates applying for MBA\M.Tech will be required to appear for state level exam TANCET.

  1. Willing candidates are required to fill TANCET one form available for all the universities providing MBA courses.
  2. TANCET is a pen and paper-based exam i.e. it is an offline examination conducted by the Anna University.
  3. TANCET EXAM PATTERN:

SXCCE Scholarships 

Scholarships are awarded by the Government and other organizations to the students of desired ability and eligibility.

Adi-Dravidar Welfare Scholarship: Students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled tribes and other backward classes of the state Tamil Nadu, having no or very less money which is preventing them from persecuting their higher studies are granted scholarships by Adi-Dravidar and welfare department.

Backward Class /Most – Backward Class Scholarships: Backward Class Welfare Department also gives scholarships to students who are poor and for some reason cannot continue their higher studies. Full Fee or Half fee will be levied.

National Scholarship: From the year 2015-2016, onwards all the 3 scholarship schemes of Minority Department i.e,pre-matric Scholarship, Post matric Scholarship and Merit cum means Based Scholarship. Hence, from 2015-2016 minority students should apply for a scholarship on website www.scholarships.gov.in.

State Scholarships for the Children of School Teachers: Scholarship scheme of The Government Of Tamil Nadu implemented a scholarship scheme with the mere objective of providing financial aid to enable the government teacher children to pursue the collegiate education.

The Tamil Nadu Educational Trust Scholarship: Scholarships are also awarded to the meritorious students by the Tamil Nadu Educational Trust.

Free Seats for Poor students from College: The college itself offers 50 scholarships every year to the poor but meritorious students who are selected by a procedure. Free Seats are provided to 6 seats every year to Dalits students.

Pragathi Scholarship: Only for the students admitted in first year of Degree Program (For female candidates only).

SAKSHAM Scholarship: Only for Differently abled students having more than 40% disability (For First year Degree Programs only)
