Best suited for the ones who do not like having a loan on your back when you graduate. Also the single choice for you if you wish to start on your own or join family business post MBA. A few people might complain of having not good enough infrastructure as it doesnt provide you with hostels but there are numerous good flats nearby which provide comfortable stay at great prices each years so majorly there is no issue in that respect as it will still cost you much cheaper than other B-schools
Admission to the MBA program at FMS is done on the basis of CAT exam scores. I applied to the college by downloading the application form and paying the application fee of 1000 Rs. I prepared for the CAT exam for about a year and it literally paid out and helped me in getting shortlisted. After that, I was invited for the GD round, which was followed by the rigorous round of Interview, which was led by a panel of interviewers. I cleared all rounds with ease since I was confident enough.
Placement Experience :
Placements are pretty awesome and one of the best in the country. Almost 100% of the students are placed almost every year. Especially during my batch average package was 21 LPA, while the highest package secured by a student of our batch was 36 LPA which was pretty insane and one of the best in the industry, especially at such a nominal prices. On a personal note, I am thankful to the placement cell for their impartial assistance.
Ques. Which is the best among IIM Lucknow, Kozhikode, FMS and MDI (mainly in terms of placement and learning)? Commerce background with good academic background and 3 years experience.
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 17 Sept 21
Ans.Having read some reviews online about IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, FMS, and MDI, here are some things I got to know which might be useful to you.
IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode both are older brands. They have a proper recruiter base, alumni network, campus life, infrastructure, and better placements.
FMS also offers low-cost and decent placement facilities, but students of FMS claim to have no campus life and any eventful experience.
MDI is considered to be decent. Thankfully they have a better and more happening campus life, unlike FMS. Bain Capability Network recruits at MDI while Bain & Co. go to the other mentioned colleges.
So the order of preference would be IIM Lucknow > IIM Kozhikode > FMS > MDI. This is as per the major rankings including Times B-School categorization. So select the one that matches most of your interests.Read more
Ques. Which is a better school FMS, Delhi or IIM, Indore keeping in mind every possible factor?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 03 Sept 21
Ans.You should choose FMS Delhi over any other institute. It offers the best ROI and has a smaller batch size compared to IIM Indore. Check some important points before taking any decision:
IIM offers better theoretical learning through better classrooms and faculty. But the question is whether you are ready to spend 14 lakhs for just a fancy classroom experience and land a measly job instead because of the batch size of 450 students.
A smaller batch would be easier for you to take up electives in the second year as well.
FMS is located in Delhi and has a strong alumni network too, so you have a good chance of getting the job of your dreams.
IIM Indore placements may have 1-2 extra names in consulting/ finance, etc but they do not have companies who recruit in bulk. If you think that the IIM tag is still significant then know that it's not.
The campus location near Indore, Kozhikode, Bangalore, Rohtak matters a lot more to recruiters. The campus life and hostel aren't bad either. Delhi as a city will also bring in more exposure through socio-cultural events, networking, and live project opportunities. Read more
Ques. Which place is better for an MBA, NIT Trichy or BHU?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 02 Sept 21
Ans.Having known some people studying in both these institutes, I can say that BHU is a better university than NIT Trichy.
NIT Trichy considers the CAT score to select the candidates. Here, the students from different states enjoy the 50% quota for MBA admission. NITs are engineering-oriented and you might have less exposure in terms of management studies.
IM (FMS) Banaras Hindu University also enrolls students with a good CAT score. Combined merit is formed for the students of the MBA and MBA (IB) program. The merit includes:-
Written Test (CAT Conducted by IIM) - 50%
Academic Records - 20%
Group Discussion and Interview (Conducted by FMS BHU) - 30%
BHU’s major recruiters include -Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy, Federal Bank, Ansal API, IDBI Bank, Pantaloons, etc.
MBA at NIT Trichy
MBA at BHU
HSBC, American Express, ITC, Asian Paints, etc.
Aditya Birla, Wipro, IDBI Bank, Reliance, etc.
A total number of 38 companies visited and a total of 119 students were placed from campus. Thus, FMS BHU is quite prominent compared to NIT Trichy. Read more
Ans.Both FMS Delhi and IIM Indore are highly reputed institutes in this league. When it comes to making a choice between FMS Delhi and IIM A/B/C, FMS should be your priority without a doubt. The facilities and opportunities offered at FMS are better than IIM Indore.
If you have doubts regarding this choice of yours you can always weigh the factors to have a better consideration in this regard.
The location of FMS is highly suitable for the students as the institute is situated in the capital state.
The campus life and academics are more or less similar in both FMS Delhi and IIM Indore.
FMS is known for its extremely experienced and educated faculty.
The placement opportunities offered to students at FMS is tremendous.
Highly esteemed companies recruit students with splendid packages.
At IIM Indore, the placement opportunities are not as magnificent as FMS.
The ROI factor plays a role in favor of FMS.
Nestle, HSBC, Asian Paints, IBM, etc.
Morgan Stanley, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Goldman Sachs, etc.
Although candidates tend to opt for IIMs for the name tag, FMS Delhi is a brand in its own and quite an influential one in this league. If you want a hassle-free university life and steady placement in the choice of your sector then FMS is for you.Read more
Ques. Is FMS a good choice over NITIE for operational management?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 12 Aug 21
Ans.I would say that if you are certain that you want to pursue operations management/SCM, NITIE is the best option. I say this based on the reviews I got from my friends at the institutes. The type of possibilities you will have in this domain at NITIE will undoubtedly be greater than at any other B-school. Here is a brief overview of the institutes.
IBM, EY, Yes Bank, HCL
ETLY, EY, IDFC First
But irrespective of the Institutes, doing well in your career depends upon how passionate you are about your career and opportunities.
About Institutes, you can conduct your own research based on the data given on their website as well as other considerations, bearing in mind your medium and long-term goals.Read more
