Remarks :

The college has considerably reduced the percentile criteria for admission that has led to mediocrity. Also the college is losing it's niche by giving non sectoral subjects more importance than the niche related subjects. No student goes unnoticed in the campus and so the individuality of students remains preserved.

Remarks :

The infrastructure is really good, resources are plenty- one just needs to master the art of utilizing them properly. The only aspect where IIFM lacks is placement figs- not as good as an IIM or other Pvt colleges, but still a good ROI. Although the figures are improving every year, the Sustainability Management course students definitely have an edge over FM guys when it comes to packages.

Remarks :

The college campus is the best thing about the college. It is not a place to pursue management for those who want to jobs specific to marketing, HR or pure corporate. Although students passing from here also get into these sector but this is not for what IIFM is known for. It is much more beyond that. It believes in serving the society and nature for what it has given us.

Ques. How is the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, and what is the admission procedure?

● Top Answer By Admin on 22 Jul 21

Ans. If you are interested in studying wildlife, flora, and fauna of a region, rural development, environmental conservation, climate change, economic empowerment, forest sustenance, etc then IIFM Bhopal is the best one to go to in India. It's a niche market if you see it one way. But if you're really passionate about the aforementioned fields then, you can make a thriving career out of it. The admission procedure is similar to other B-schools. A valid score in CAT/XAT is required. The institute will shortlist based on the score. You will have to keep checking the official website for the shortlisting announcement. The final steps will include WAT and personal interview; if you perform well, You'd easily get in. You will only be called on the basis of the percentile scored in the exams. Then the WAT will test your writing skills and the interview will finalize your position. The final test score will be an admixture of the three. A regular MBA from any other college will be better than IIFM's but for forest management, it's definitely the best India can offer.Read more

Ques. Why should anyone join IIFM Bhopal for PGDFM program?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 15 Jul 21

Ans. IIFM Bhopal is an excellent institute for forest management courses, providing a degree that offers much more than knowledge of general management. You will learn to apply management practices in development sectors. The forest management course usually deals with the application of management practices in the forest development sector, which has its unique approach. MBA pass-outs from IIFM work as managers in several sectors, taking difficult decisions like the banning and control of falling of trees, framing a criminal offense for the poaching of wildlife, etc. Let’s consider a real-life scenario, if an old villager is accused of killing a tiger, he/she will be punished for 7 years with a monetary fine in the court of law. It will be a matter of political, ethical, legal, and economic approach for a general management student, resulting in the villager being punished. But, for an MBA in forest management, he/she will also consider the livelihood side of the villager, his conditions of living, and the circumstances that led to the crime. This is the major difference in approach. The PGDFM program in IIFM Bhopal has its characteristics and approach of study, which is unique, and that makes it a decent choice for students interested in the field.Read more

Ques. How is the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal for an MBA?

● Top Answer By Anil Tigga on 22 Jun 21

Ans. PGDM from Indian institute of Forest management Bhopal is good. The curriculum is quite similar to that of other B schools but they have some forestry papers in every trimester. You will not specialize in marketing, finance and HR but specializations are available for Conservation and livelihood management, environmental management and development management. If you want to make a career in the environment and development sector then this college will be good for you. Placements will be mostly in the rural area and packages might be in the lower side around 5-6 lacs. You will get positions like program officer in conservation organizations, young professionals in livelihood missions, tourism coordinator, resort manager, sales manager in banks and microfinance institutions, consultants in multilateral organizations like UNDP, World Bank etc. Categories Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal Course Fee 4.56 lakh Highest CTC 14 LPA Average CTC 7 LPA Overall the campus, faculty members, and college environment are all good. The college accepts applications through CAT and XAT scores. This college also provides a good return on investment.Read more

Ques. Is IIFM Bhopal worth it?

● Top Answer By Deepika Kunwar on 13 May 21

Ans. IIFM Bhopal is not exclusivelyabout Forestry in particular as it comprises several other subjects as well.  The syllabus would cover topics like Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and others that relate to the Marketing side. Instead of joining the core management sector, you would master yourself in 3 main domains which are- Rural Development Management, Environment Management, and Conservation and Livelihood Management. This, in particular, is what makes IIFM what it is today. By the time you would have completed your course and stepped out in society, you would realize that you are capable enough to make a good contribution to society. You would be carrying such a unique niche as compared to other management graduates that you would be somewhat superior to them in strict terms of expertise. Even if you speak in terms of ROI, IIFM is absolutely worth it as well. Read more

Ques. I am very passionate about wildlife and forests. Should doing an MBA from IIFM Bhopal help me to do a job that will satisfy my passion?

● Top Answer By Praver Katyal on 13 May 21

Ans. Yes, it is natural that when you are applying for a course in Wildlife, you are bound to encompass aspects of Wildlife as well, which would be a crucial part of the course. This includes Ecosystem Management, Wildlife Conservation, Forestry, and Environment. The most interesting fact here is that once you complete your course on Wildlife from IIFM, Bhopal you would manage to grab a golden opportunity for yourself to work with reputed wildlife organizations like World Wildlife Fund (WWF), MP Tiger Foundation, MP Forest Department, and many others like that.  If you are just as passionate about forests and wildlife, you should definitely go for IIFM Bhopal. Perhaps try to connect with alumni for better clarification on your queries as they would have better to explain along with on-ground knowledge.Read more
