Ques. Is it worth paying the higher fees to go to ISB? Why?

    ● Top Answer By T Umesh Kumar on 30 Jan 23

My answer is going to be extremely biased as my sister has been a victim of ISB Hyderabad’s high fees and poor placement opportunities. This answer is meant to shed some light on this issue. ISB Hyderabad MBA fees are currently INR 41,98,000 (plus GST) while the batch size is around 900. The Institute has failed to cater to the huge batch size and has witnessed a decline in the quality of education and placements in ISB Hyderabad. The best roles are very scarce and are given only to the students with the top grades. Others end up with below-average packages. As far as the specialization is concerned, Finance jobs are almost non-existent at ISB Hyderabad. Consulting is one of the leading domains here and the top 3 firms do visit the campus. But the number of roles offered by them is not enough for the huge batch. The other roles offered are mediocre and not at par with the hefty fees 900 students have paid. They expect better packages and after realizing the actual scenario feel wronged. ISB Hyderabad MBA is not suitable if you earn around 16 Llacs with more than 3 years of work experience you are a software engineer in top product companies you are already from a good engineering college like IITs, BITS, and Top NITs So we can safely conclude that ISB Hyderabad is an overrated Institute and its rankings are misleading. The reality of the institute begs to differ....Read more

Ques. ISB Hyderabad's 1 year MBA program or Top 25 US B schools 2 year MBA program? Which is worth in the long run in terms of opportunities and pay package?

    ● Top Answer By Srinivas Gunda on 30 Jan 23

You cannot logically compare US B Schools with ISB Hyderabad considering the difference in the quality of peer ground and overall education. To give a better understanding, compare the ROI of both the B Schools. ISB Hyderabad MBA fees are around 24-28 Lakhs per year and considering the placement scenario, you cannot get a package of more than 15-18 Lakhs. On the other hand, the average fee of a US B School is around 120-200k Dollars and the salary one can expect from a B School is 120k. The ROI in the latter case is much better. However, these ROI calculations have overlooked one part. As an International student, you'll need a job with a firm that sponsors h1b visas. This reduces 70% of coveted jobs. Now the hunt for a suitable job is tougher and you have to also hope that you win the h1b lottery. If you are unable to do so you might end up in India with a heavy loan of 80-90k Lakhs with an average salary of 15-20 LPA. So we can say that US B Schools are always the better option than ISB Hyderabad but the risks involved are tenfold....Read more

    ● Top Answer By Sidhharth Jain on 23 Feb 23

When choosing a B.B.A program, it is important to consider the quality of the program and what it offers compared to other universities. IBS Hyderabad offers a strong B.B.A program that stands out in comparison to other universities such as GGSIPU, Amity, and Christ. In the final year of the 3-year B.B.A program at IBS Hyderabad, you have the advantage of choosing from streams including Finance, Marketing, HRM, Entrepreneurship, and IT, flexibility not offered in the BBA program at IP University. The cost of the B.B.A program at IBS Hyderabad is approximately Rs 5,80,000, which is similar to what other universities charge. Additionally, IBS Hyderabad offers scholarships based on academic performance. For example, students who score more than 90% can receive a scholarship of Rs 75,000. Ques. What is the admission fee at ISB Hyderabad?

    ● Top Answer By Gauri Pandey on 08 Mar 21

Before commenting on the admission fee, let me tell you the difference between the admission fee and the total expense of pursuing an MBA from ISB Hyderabad. Admission fee refers to the minimum expenses within 15 days of getting the admit offer. Particulars Fee (Rs) Admission Fee 2.50 Lakhs Tuition Fee 24.54 Lakhs The above is not inclusive of Electricity charges, Laundry charges, and eating/ recreation expenses. All of this includes accommodation, food, and all course-related material. Travel costs from your home location to both the ISB Campuses and International location are not included. Some of the other expenses are as follows: Security deposit: A refundable security deposit of INR 20,000 has to be paid. These are refunded after deduction of any dues payable to the school. Alumni Fund: Alumni membership fee of INR 25,000 is to be paid. It’s paid at the beginning of the program.  Recreation Centre: A deposit of INR 15,000 has to be paid for the lifetime use of the Recreation Centre. This is applicable for participants of all degree equivalent programs at ISB. Added benefits: A senior member from the students’ family can attend a 3-day executive education program “Family Business: Managing Growth and Transformation (MGT)” free of cost. This is valid only for the MGT program offered in the year 2021-22. The tuition fee is payable in 4 equal installments over 12 months. These expenses may change over the course of the degree because of the program fee being revised by the ISB. Also, keep in mind that you might need to purchase laptops and other electronic aids recommended by the program office....Read more

Ques. Which is best -MBA in finance from ISB Hyderabad or top IIMS A/B/C?

    ● Top Answer By Prakriti Sharma on 30 Jan 23

ISB Hyderabad is known for its lack of specialization in Finance. It’s a common understanding now that even if one is preferring ISB Hyderabad for admission, they know that they should go for anything but Finance. Studying some aspects will give you a deeper insight as to why MBA in Finance from ISB Hyderabad is not recommended. Faculty: Although the visiting faculty is quite decent, it’s the domestic faculty that has ruined the culture at ISB. They are arrogant, pathetic, and extremely incapable. They insult the students regularly and disturb student-teacher relations. Placements: The roles offered in Finance were below average like Operations, Sales, and BD roles. Such roles were offered in abundance by the banks or start-ups. However, the superior roles like IB/PE/VC/M&A/FP&A/Equity Research/Credit Rating/Asset Management/TAS were offered scarcely. For instance  only 10 FP and A roles were allotted that too only to CAs Only one Investment banking role was offered by Barclays Only 5 PE/bc roles were offered and there was a strong preference for a prior IB/PE/VC experience and IIT undergraduate background. One M and A role was offered only 4 Asset Management and zero Equity Research and Credit Rating roles were offered. So the best roles were offered limitedly while the batch size stood at 900. Most students ended up with unsatisfactory placements. Now you can decide whether or not to join if you are confident to face the placement scenario....Read more

Ques. Is it worth spending 30k to join GMAT coaching at Crack ISB Hyderabad?

    ● Top Answer By Yash Bhati on 30 Jan 23

Yes, it certainly is worth paying a hefty fee of 30k for GMAT coaching at Crack ISB Hyderabad. The quality of trainers and the certainty of admission is what draw the candidates here. While there are many institutes that specialize in training for the CAT, very few institutes offer training for GMAT.  Crack ISB Hyderabad has many features that have made it so popular and demanding among GMAT aspirants The peer group is a productive and effective group discussion is possible The institute gives the admission essay reviews free of cost while most institutes charge around 20-25k The quality of editing is much better at this Institute mainly because the faculty comprises alumni of top B Schools  So it’s better to pay more for quality education than pay less or the same for substandard education. But remember an Institute can just prepare you for your entrance exam. It’s upon you to put in maximum effort and achieve your goals....Read more

Ques. I would like to join ISB (Indian School of Business) Hyderabad for a business analytics course. Is it good? Can I get a good job opportunity through this course?

    ● Top Answer By Pria Maheshwari on 30 Jan 23

My answer is based on my sister’s comparison therefore is brutally honest and objective. Some people might still be praising the Business Analytics course but trust me it’s their see efforts to increase its market value only. I personally am here to convince you against the Business Analytics course. My sister was a student in the same program and even after relentless efforts for 1.5 years, the results were nowhere near expectations. In Fact, she suffered throughout the course and her career was affected a lot in the process. The following points strongly support my opinion and might convince you of the same Poor quality and substandard faculty who keep changing their rules  The topics are covered very vaguely and no in-depth insight is offered. An entire topic is covered in 5 lectures that are technically just 10 hours. The assignments are not evaluated properly and you don’t receive any feedback from the professors that might encourage you to do better No placement assistance is offered to students in ISB Hyderabad  The batch size is ever-increasing and has made ISB Hyderabad a money-marking Institute only. You don’t get to choose one area of Analytics that you want to specialize in and have to study irrelevant subjects that might be of no use to you in the future  Despite the fees and everything, it’s just a Certificate program and not a degree or diploma The Certificate of Business Analytics is not approved by the Government of India and has little value officially  If you are really keen to pursue your career in Business Analytics, choose one area in analytics you want to specialize in and pursue that specific area only. For instance, you can choose a Big data or Machine Learning course and go through their concepts and look for jobs and internships in that area specifically. This is a faster and much more focused way rather than joining the CBA program....Read more

Ques. Is there a specialization for Human Resource Management at the ISB in Hyderabad?

    ● Top Answer By Arshit Jain on 14 Feb 23

It is important to note that the Indian School of Business (ISB) does not offer a specific course structure that trains students to become Human Resource Managers. The Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) at ISB is a general management program that covers various aspects of business, including human resources. However, the Fellow Program in Management does have an area called Organizational Behaviour and Strategy which is closely related to Human Resource Management. While at ISB, students have the opportunity to take subjects related to human resources such as Strategy and Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare, Public Policy, and Strategic Performance Management. Additionally, ISB hosts a 2-3 day program for executives that focuses on linking human resources with business strategy. However, this program cannot be considered a specialization. If you are specifically looking to specialize in Human Resource Management, you may want to consider other business schools such as the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, XLRI Jamshedpur, Xavier Institute of Management Bhubhaneshwar, or Xavier Institute of Social Service Ranchi, which offer full-time courses in Human Resource Management. Additionally, there are short certification programs offered by organizations such as Talent Management Institute, HR Certification Institute, Society for Human Resource Management, and Human Capital Institute, which could be a good option for working professionals looking to change their field of work or add HR credentials to their CVs. These programs are also cheaper than regular full-time courses....Read more

Ques. Have heard the 1 year MBA program at ISB Hyderabad is very rigorous. What would be the passing criteria and are there people who fail?

    ● Top Answer By Shubham Gupta on 14 Feb 23

The ISB routine is rigorous, with a heavy workload and limited time to complete it. You will have class quizzes every week and exams every fortnight, in addition to other extracurricular activities and assignments. However, once you become accustomed to it, you may find that you enjoy the challenge.  It is important to have decent academic skills, as evidenced by a GMAT score in the range of 600 to 770, but it is also important to note that your performance in class quizzes, assignments, and other activities also plays a role in determining your grade. If you are considering applying to ISB, it is important to focus on your application and not let the rigorous routine discourage you....Read more
