Placement Experience :

The placement cell in our college guides and train the graduating students for campus placement. And our college has a reputation of 100% placement. The average CTC salary package offered was around Rs.19-20 LPA.

Ques. How is ISB compared to IIM-A, IIMB, IIMC, IIM-L, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and IIM-I in terms of placements, faculty, ROI, alumni, infrastructure and brand image?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 15 Sept 21

Ans. Whether to join IIM Kozhikode or not is definitely your call because the scenario once you join IIM K would be different. I would like to share with you an experience of my friend, who attended IIM K.  He dropped out of IIMK as he found it stressful. You should know that the course is rigorous and it prepares you for the stress that you are about to deal with. Obviously, the chance of you earning a high salary is for sure. But again, it depends on how well the economy is doing. Most of the time the employers have a preference order, i.e. IIT>NIT>fresher, for recruitment. To ensure good placement opportunities try to be in the top 10% of the class in terms of GPA. Also, you can become a part of organizing events, leading clubs, etc.  Since you will have 12 months of experience, you will be treated as a fresher and won’t be allowed to sit in lateral placement. So, OPs companies will be out of the picture which is maybe your interest since you are coming from a similar background. So, if you want an OPs job role, stay in the industry for another year and then join IIM K. In order to get a consulting or finance role, you will need to come in the top 10 of your batch. You will also need CFA certification.  Marketing and IT companies will prefer you since you are a fresher. So, if you are interested in Marketing or IT, you can definitely join the institute.  HR companies don’t usually visit IIM K. So, I will advise you to consider all these factors and make a more convenient choice for yourself. Read more

Ques. For a 3 year experienced female professional, which is a better suited option for me- 1 year program at ISB or 2 years PGP program at IIM Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 27 Jul 21

Ans. According to the profile you mentioned, there is no specific edge that you will have in either of the two institutes, IIM Bangalore and ISB Hyderabad. Usually, there is huge academic pressure in IIM Bangalore. IIM B also has a better peer group, so you will face more competition at the institute. But, it is up to you how you will handle the pressure. In terms of choices offered in placement, IIM Bangalore offers a much wider span of choices after the degree. IIM students get the chance to change industries and try on different roles in the industry too. The 1-year executive program offered by ISB Hyderabad will be somewhat more sensitive for you, taking seniority into account. But, ISB placements are somewhat lateral in nature. Also, ISB usually offers better roles to seniors with work experience of 5 years or more. Both IIM Bangalore and ISB Hyderabad have their own advantages, which are not that dependent on the factors mentioned in the question. So, both are excellent options and you can choose either of them based on the factors listed above.Read more

Ques. How can you compare ISB's CBA vs IIM Bangalore's BAI courses?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Ranjan on 27 Jul 21

Ans. Some of my friends are studying in both the institutes and according to their firsthand experience, both the courses differ from each other. For a clearer view, you must take a look at the major pros and cons of both of them. Pros: ISB CBA: ISB CBA has a great campus and you will be lucky to have a global faculty. You will get tremendous networking opportunities with 100+ batches as you will be among brilliant talents. Most of the pedagogy includes offline methods whereas online teaching is only limited to tutorials. Some of the best Faculties in the institute are Prof Shailesh, Prof Sarang Deo, Prof Arun, and Prof Sudhir Voleti. As the CBA course is a full-time course, you will also benefit by getting the ISB Brand Value. This might help you get recognition. IIM Bangalore BAI: You will get global faculty and excellent peers to be with. No one can compete with IIM’s brand value. As the course is mostly offered in online mode, it is quite ideal if you are a working person. Cons: ISB CBA: The fees are quite expensive for most middle-class students. There should be more career opportunities that justify the cost. IIM Bangalore BAI: You are not allowed to stay within the campus which significantly reduces your chances to enjoy vast networking. Both the courses come with their own pros and cons while holding a big brand value, therefore the decision lies in your hand.Read more

Ques. Which college is better between SVKM's NMIMS and the ISB for an MBA?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 22 Jul 21

Ans. ISB Hyderabad is the better option among the two. It ranks among the top-50 B-Schools in the world. ISB Hyderabad's PGP admits students on the basis of their prior work experience. They expect each candidate to carry at least 2 years of work experience. It is the only flagship program of ISB Hyderabad. All Mohali and Hyderabad campuses demonstrate the same kind of experience. But when it comes to the campus choice, you don’t get to choose it. All of them have the same sort of traits. Placements are campus neutral and happen in one place. The career advancement service department at ISB includes 20+ members who provide the best job opportunities to the students from companies like Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Deloitte, Amazon, etc. The visiting professors come from institutes Duke, Wharton, Kellogg, etc. All the faculties hold a Ph.D. and have their own journals published internationally. All these factors make ISB one of the best management schools in India.Read more
