    Course Curriculum Overview:

I enrolled in IMI because the professors and exposure were excellent, and I had always been drawn to the topic of human resources. Some of them have served on the boards of directors of reputable businesses and multinational corporations in India and overseas, where they assisted in the development of those businesses' competency frameworks.

    Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Post Graduation Diploma in Management is Approved by AICTE. This is a model where there is case-based learning where the concepts are immersed through different cases based on the subject we are going to study. The Faculty is of immense qualification and we have a few faculty who have done their Ph.D. from Out of the country at one of the best Colleges such as the London School of Economics and the University of Pittsburgh. The term marks are cumulative of several components such as class participation assignments and projects alongside the end and mid-term examinations.

Ques. Is IMI delhi good for pursuing MBA in HR?

    ● Top Answer By Rohan Raj on 03 Mar 23

IMI Delhi has its flagship PGDM course wherein you can choose any specialization in the second year ranging from finance, marketing, and operations to HRM. Apart from this flagship course, IMI Delhi additionally offers a separate specialization program i.e., PGDM HRM (Human Resource Management). Suitability: The program is targeted toward individuals keen to kickstart their careers in the HR domain.  Curriculum: The curriculum is industry relevant and is customized according to the recent trends in the industry. So unlike the regular PGDM, the HRM program lays more emphasis on core HR subjects. This basically means that tour core subjects will comprise more HR electives than general Management. International exchange program: This program enables students from foreign universities to study with the students at IMI Delhi and vice Versa. Placements: The key highlights of IMI Delhi placements 2023 for PGDM HRM are tabulated below:   Particulars  Statistics  Average Package INR 15.58 LPA Highest Package INR 20.50 LPA Median Package INR 14.82 LPA Top 10% average package INR 19.89 LPA Total Students 35...Read more

Ques. How good is IMI Delhi? With their high fees and much debated average salary package, is it worth joining?

    ● Top Answer By Sajeev Rajan on 03 Mar 23

IMI Delhi offers plenty of opportunities in terms of learning and knowledge. With the extremely talented and experienced faculty combined with the terrific industry exposure, the high fees do not seem so high in reality. A student just does not learn at IMI New Delhi, he grows. Consider only 65-70% of the average package to draw conclusions from it. This is because not all Students contribute to the average package figure, but only the ones that got placed till the last placement date contribute to it. The placement scenario at IMI New Delhi however, depends more on your competence than anything. It’s the ones who are genuinely passionate and have worked really hard that are able to face the placements. Before the placements, the committee makes sure to let you know that any failure in regard to placements will be a result of your own incompetence and not the institute’s inefficiency. So be prepared for such scenarios. Like any other B School, there is a bias towards the Placement committee which gets placed right in the beginning. At IMI Delhi a student can sit for PI a maximum of 5 times but some are allowed to do so more than 7-8 times. There is a distinction between us and you will have to consider this factor. Now make an informed decision by first determining what is more important for you; placements or academics. If it’s the former you are after then there is no certainty you will get a good package but for the latter, I can assure you, you will spend the best time learning the best things....Read more

Ques. Is It worth to join B schools like IMT/IMI/XIMB whose fees are around 20 lakhs if I have calls from reputed government colleges on par with these?

    ● Top Answer By Suntonu Basu on 13 Mar 23

Before I talk about the worth of private B Schools like IMT/IMI/XIMB, let’s consider their average packages. B School Average Package IMT  INR 17.35 LPA IMI Delhi INR 17.01 LPA XIMB INR 20 LPA The average package of government colleges like IITs and DSE is slightly less around INR 10.57 LPA. So the point is if you are ready to invest a hefty amount in B Schools, you will not regret the decision as they are game changers. The level of exposure and diversity is almost higher than in Government colleges. IITs, DFS and DSE MBAs have a more theoretical approach than a practical one. However, the figures for private B schools are inflated so do consider the ups and downs. IITs are best for operations and manufacturing industries IMT or XIMB is a good option for Marketing DFS or IMI are best suited for Finance XIMB or DSE are best for HR The final decision is up to you. Try to find what exactly you want from MBA If you are looking for the IIT tag, then IIT If you are after ROI or PhD then DSE or DFS If you want to climb the corporate ladder, XIMB is the best Make a well-informed decision after proper research....Read more

Ques. Which is better, a PGDM in banking and financial services at IMI, Delhi or a PGDM general in LBSIM, Delhi?

    ● Top Answer By Rajan Patel on 03 Mar 23

I can speak with certainty that PGDM at LBSIM is a far better option than PGDM in Financial services at IMI Delhi. My brother is a recent pass out from LBSIM and the following highlight of the institute are based on his personal experiences  The IIRF ranks LBSIM 25th among private colleges It has a spectacular ROI in terms of placements and fees LBSIM is famous for its student culture You can get an insight into various angles of the industry you will be dealing with in the future  You can avail an abundance of opportunities through live projects and get to have a detailed experience in your specialization. The institute prioritizes a practical approach over theoretical knowledge through academic activities outside the classroom Various academic and non-academic clubs make the environment a friendly one  The institute boasts of a 100% placement record It has an elaborate alumni network that is spread across top companies like Big Four’s, Arcesium, Marsh & Mclennan, Asian Paints, Crisil LBSIM collaborates with various international universities for its student exchange program. Some of them include Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Northern Illinois University, USA, European Higher School of Economics and Management, Bulgaria etc. A unique feature of the B School is its Bloomberg Terminal which is restricted to the top B Schools like IIM B, IIM C, and FMS only. All these points clearly state that LBSIM is a very good choice for a PGDM program....Read more

Ques. Which one to choose between TAPMI PGDM and IMI Delhi PGDM (Banking & Finance)? Give reasons for the choice.

    ● Top Answer By Aditya Kwatra on 03 Mar 23

I am certain that if I had been in your place I would have opted for TAPMI PGDM over IMI Delhi PGDM. I even have a friend who recently joined this program and is very happy with her decision so I have more assurance in this regard. TAPMI is well recognized not only in India but abroad as well, especially in the Middle East. I know many colleagues from my last workplace who relocated to the Middle East and other foreign countries after graduating from TAPMI. The infrastructure and campus are very beautiful, unlike the NCR campus which is hot and congested. Delhi is suitable only if you are interested in Sales roles. Else for specialization in Finance and Banking TAPMI is the best choice one can make. Some companies that visited the campus during placements are Deloitte Bajaj CRISIL Fincare HDFC Bank Invesco I think TAPMI is the best option if you are looking for a sales role in a Finance company....Read more

Ques. How good is IMI Delhi 'executive PGDM' compared to other 1 year exe-MBA courses in India?

    ● Top Answer By Harry Sandhu on 03 Mar 23

IMI Delhi Executive PGDM is a very good choice if you are on the lookout for improving your learning caliber and climbing the corporate ladder higher. It is most suitable for working professionals who join on a sabbatical and don’t leave their jobs to pursue this program. The faculty is highly experienced and will guide you throughout the program. The placement for their flagship course is better than the executive course. They falsely claim to offer lateral placement support. If you are joining the program be prepared for no general increase in salary or placements. Join the program only if your primary purpose is to learn. Less than half of the students get placed in this program too with below-average packages. If you are ready to face it with a positive mindset, then only opt for this program....Read more

Ques. Which is better LBSIM, Delhi PGDM (general) or IMI, Delhi PGDM (B&FS)?

    ● Top Answer By Amay Singh on 03 Mar 23

PGDM BFS is a viable option if you are keen about numbers and finance in general. PGDM core and PGDM BFS rarely has a major difference in curriculum except that marketing subjects of BFS would be less intriguing and the major pedagogy is directed towards marketing of finance products and services only. A PGDM core student is open to a plethora of opportunities during placements as he is eligible to appear for companies offering marketing and sales profiles. On the contrary, a PGDM BFS student has been exposed to a customized curriculum that focuses mainly on Finance and lacks a wide range of opportunities. However, he has a more definite chance of securing placement at a company offering Finance roles like Banks and other financial institutions. This advantage seems very minimal right now but with the increase in the relevance of the curriculum and demand of the course, it will soon be coveted among Finance aspirants. The BFS faculties are considered to be among the best given the excellent performance of BFS students in the recent years and the increasing popularity of the course. The companies visiting the campus for BFS are not only banks but include AMCs, NBFCs, FinTechs and other Fin Services firms. The course targets the entire Banking and Finance sector.  At the end of the day, what remains of your college life is not the specific course you chose but the college you chose to pursue it. Be it PGDM Core or PGDM BFS, IMI Delhi is the perfect college to experience a great college life....Read more
