Remarks :

Management is good, college can really do well if it tries to improve its placement rather than increasing the intake.

Admission :

I had cleared the XAT cut off followed by GDPI for the admission in the college.The process includes:1) XAT/CAT/CMAT cut off clearance2) GDPI3) Weightage on work experience, past academic records, gender, diversity etcThe dates are mostly from Feb to Mar end for GDPI. Results are announced in 4 rounds starting from April.

Admission :

I am a delhite and I wanted to move out of delhi for my master's. I wanted to do marketing and this college was on my list as their IMC course is very famous. I gave XAT, they accepted my score. I had a GDPI session with the faculty I got a rank based on that. Admission to their various courses are via ranks you get. As per my rank I was eligible for PGDM IMC and the call letter came.

Placement Experience :

Companies that came to our college include Bytedance, Mahindra & Mahindra, Michael Page, HCL technologies, HSCB, Delloit, EY GDS etc. 100% placements, the college was committed towards getting students placed. Internships were provided from big names and small enterprises both.

Ans. The environment of IIM Sirmaur is excellent, providing a complete learning experience to all. You will love studying there along with the following advantages: The student’s quality is great as most of them have scored 99 percentile. Regular lectures are taken up by the faculty of IIM Lucknow. Also, the guest lectures are being provided by the institute. Those are really good to hear. Regular industry exposure is given so that you can have an insight into what you are studying with complete hands-on experience. There is an International Immersion Program that is being organized by IIM Sirmaur. There are many clubs and societies that you can join to pursue your passion. It will help you gain some more skills apart from the curriculum for further placements and the interview process. Lastly, we can say that taking admission to IIM Sirmaur can be the best decision that you can take. Don’t worry about taking admission if you get a call.Read more

Ans. Having known some students of both these colleges, I can say that both the colleges are really good in terms of infrastructure, culture, and faculties. There are of course some differences too and for that let me share with you a few details. KJ Somaiya has better infrastructure and the campus is located at the heart of the city. SIMSREE doesn't have such a big infrastructure. SIMSREE has a better ROI than KJ Somaiya. Placement usually depends on your profile and how you perform in your management education & certainly performance in interviews. Professors, peers both are good in both colleges. At SIMSREE, the finance course is much better as there are several guest lecturers visiting from JBIMS. Both SIMSREE and KJ Somaiya’s program in MMS is Mumbai University affiliated. Its degree is acceptable for several government jobs as well. Categories MMS at SIMSREE MMS at KJ Somaiya Course Fee 1.36 lakh 3.24 lakh Highest CTC 20 LPA - Average CTC 12 LPA 8-9 LPA Recruiting Companies American Express, Barclays, ITC, KPMG, etc. Amazon, HUL, Deutsche Bank, Wipro, etc. It must be noted that PGDBM is not offered at SIMSREE rather the institute also offers MMS in affiliation with Mumbai University. Ans. As one of my friends also has gone through the same situation, I might be able to provide you with some tips that could be useful to you. Expect nothing out of the ordinary that will catch you off guard. The interview process is straightforward and very conventional. There's no need to be anxious if you have good reasons for what you've written on your CV and SOP. Be meticulous with your SOP and CV, as most of the questions to be raised would be sourced from what’s written in your CV and SOP. Remember, your desire to do an MBA should be convenient to the panel and they must know exactly why you want to get an MBA degree. In most cases, case-based GD is offered, therefore XAT decision-making questions can be useful during preparation. If you have any prior work experience, you should expect some questions from that section as well. Hence be prepared in that way to walk through this interview round.Read more
