What students say about Hansraj College - [HRC]

Likes

  • The difficulty level does increase every year, but we have our wonderful facility that makes these subjects look easier.
  • The internship cell of Hansraj College continually works on providing the best internship opportunities to the students of Hansraj College.
  • However, I feel that everything in our college is the best, but the performance of the placement cell is not appreciated as much.
  • Teachers and the management donate money, which will be used for scholarships and issuing prizes to deserving candidates.
  • Campus life was great. Election time was one of the best times in college.
  • The hostel is very good and cleanliness is also good. The hostel rooms are very suitable for students and their design is also good. All study materials, such as table fans and other necessary things, are provided in the hostel.
  • Its the best college in every sense - academics and extracurricular activities included.

Dislike

  • I have not gotten any internship or placement because there are no facilities available here. I am pursuing a UG Physics (H) course, and there are no job opportunities in any company or sector. Therefore, there are no facilities provided here.
  • Our college does offer scholarships to poor students who are unable to support themselves and pay for their college fees.
  • On average, the monthly expenses of a single student are 15 to 16 thousand per month, which is very high for lower middle class and poor people.
  • There is no need for any bad remarks regarding my college; I am fully satisfied with its management.

Placement Experience:

I think from the final year final semester the students became eligible for campus placements and if you want to know more about the placement scenario at different colleges you must visit ht e college website or the placement cell of that particular college The average package offered at Hansraj is 6LPA and the highest is 20 LPA. Mainly the job profiles are from the finance sector. The BCOM and ECO hons graduates are the most students in demand. As I am doing CMA as well I am not dependent upon college only for the placement however if I didn't get placed through college or CMA then I can approach companies through LinkedIn. It is the skills that matter the most degree is just there to make you eligible.

Remarks:

During My time the admission process was through CUET[Common University Entrance Test] And it is followed up by various universities asking to register on their portals. In my case, as I wanted to take admitted to DU I have to register myself on CSAS Portal The eligibility to take admission under various programmes and the subject combinations are provided in the brochure of CUET and also in the University brochure In my case for bcom hons [Mathematics/Accounts+English[Compulsory In Du]+2 subject from list B1 or either 1 subject from list B2. You can find all the updates regarding examination, application and other important dates through the official website of CUET {cuet.Samarth.ac.in} During our time CUET was initiated for the very first time so the whole process created a lot of mess. as it was the first time and also covid resulted in late implementation and made the process lengthy. As time passes it will keep getting improve

Placement Experience:

The placements start around the month of July for the 3rd year. You need to submit your CV according to the format provided by the placement cell in the college. The placement offers are divided into 3 Tiers. Tier 1 consists of placement offers from 10 LPA and above, Tier 2 consists of offers between 6 LPA and 10 LPA and Tier 3 of 6 LPA and below.

Remarks:

It was a one-time thing but at the time of my admission, our college had admissions and it was fine when it was online but during offline classes, it was a pain due to the insufficiency of seats in classrooms. It was corrected by the next batch of students but I hope nothing similar happens in the future.

Placement Experience:

The placement situation is not satisfactory but most of the students go for higher studies or UPSC. Students become eligible for placement in 2nd year. I wish to become a civil servant. Placement is mostly in Computer Science and Economics honors.

Remarks:

My admission was based on the percentage achieved in the 12th board. Application forms and fee details are available on the DU website. Cut-off depends and varies as per course and category. I am from OBC non-creamy layer therefore I received the Constitutional benefit of the quota. I wish our admission could have been on an entrance basis but it was based on percentage but now CUET provides a fair and level playing field to every candidate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Philosophy as a discipline offers a unique way to enhance your understanding and outlook towards the world. It opens up our minds and transforms us into thinking being. Thus, I opted for the course. The faculty is quite experienced and very humble. The ratio of faculty to students is optimum as Philosophy Honours is a relatively newer course at Hansraj College. The curriculum too is well designed, though some absurdities do exist. Examinations do not have a very heavy bearing as the number of papers is at a maximum of 5, thus giving ample time throughout the semester to prepare and develop a good understanding of the subject

Remarks:

The admission process was quite smooth as admissions were based on a cutoff system of class 12th percentage back then at Delhi University. Philosophy Honours did not require studying any particular subject in class 12th as an eligibility criterion. The form was available on the website of university. The admission process now has changed since the inception of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)

Placement Experience:

Placements of our college are done by one of the societies of our college which is Placement cell. They make resumes for the students and make them able to get jobs in campus placements when companies from different parts of the country Visits to the campus. From the 5th semester, students get eligible for campus placements. Many companies like Flipkart, Ekart, myntra, ICICI bank, hdfc bank, etc came to our campus for placements. The highest package received by a student was around 7.5 lakhs per annum and the average package received by students is 4 to 5 lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

Eligibility of the course depends upon how much percentage is yours and if it matches with the cut-off of the college for that particular course you applied for. Admission process is a lengthy process which consists of selecting the college you want only if your percentage is matching with the cut-off per cent. Application forms for admission are made available on the DU website and you can get all the information regarding application forms, cut-off lists etc on the DU website. Reservation benefits help in getting admission easily for the OBC, EWS, SC, and ST candidates in the college at a lower cut-off than the general category. Everything is up to the mark related to the admission process there is no kind of delay or problem in it. The only thing is that sometimes the site gets crashes because of too many students using the website at the same time but it's a minor problem, not a big deal.

Placement Experience:

From the 5th semester, students get eligible for campus placements. Many companies like Flipkart ekart myntra ICICI bank, HDFC bank, botany research institutions etc came to our campus for placements. The highest package received by a student was around 8 lakhs per annum and the average package received by students is 4 to 5 lakhs per annum. 30 per cent of students get placed in companies other students do not take part in all this because they want to pursue their future studies as well. My plans after getting the degree are to study for the air force entrance exam

Remarks:

The eligibility of the course is that your percentage should be higher than the cutoff percentage of the college. Application forms are made available on the DU website and also on the college website you can check there easily. Reservation benefits help you to take admission to a high-ranked college at low cut-off than that of the general category Many improvements are required in the admission process as the site crashes easily and the servers are very slow.
