Remarks :

The MBA from SPJIMR literally changed my career for good. SPJIMR is the first B-School in the region. The infrastructure is good, the faculty is also good. One of the key highlights of SPJIMR was the placement. It has been an exploratory journey. I would definitely recommend the SPJIMR college for management studies.

My master's journey at the SPJIMR was not what I expected, but it was a good adventure, nevertheless. The college has a good placement record from which I benefitted. Teaching is also good. SPJIMR is definitely a good choice for masters at a reasonable price in the Pune region.

Ques. What would be better for an above average student interested in finance, IIM Kozhikode or SP Jain?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 21 Sept 21

Ans. If you are not obsessed with having an IIM tag, I suggest you go for SPJAIN over IIMK. Here are the reasons why.  Brand value: SPJAIN has been performing exceptionally well in the past few years. In the coming years, the brand value is surely going to rise. Location: Location plays a pivotal role during placements and SP Jain is located in Mumbai, which is the hub of all finance jobs in India. SP Jain also has a great placement record. According to the 2021 placement report, the average CTC offered at the institute was 26 LPA.  However, I am pretty sure you will perform well in whichever college you choose. A branded college provides you with a good platform in the industry but then, it is only in the initial years. Later, it all depends on you and your long-term goals, desires, and aspirations.Read more

Ques. Is a 4-year tri city BBA course of SPJ better than a 5-year IPM at IIM Indore?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 20 Aug 21

Ans. IPM does not offer a BBA degree but you will receive a BA degree for your undergrad coursework (Foundations in Management). The subjects taught at the undergraduate level are vastly different from those taught in any other BBA program. Any decision based on an assumption about the IPM curriculum can land you in big trouble. Returning to the question, I'm not familiar with the specifics of the four-year Tri-City programme, but I'm sure it entails a lot of learning from an institute like SPJ.  Having said that, IPM and the aforementioned course can be compared on the same scale. Two degrees from IIM Indore (one of which is the regular MBA that other PGP participants are entitled to) is an incredible value that cannot be matched by any other BBA programme in the country.  Other benefits include the environment and opportunities that come with being a student at an IIM. Comparisons can be made when other IIMs launch courses similar to IPM, which does not appear to be happening anytime soon. Until then, IPM would be a clear winner in terms of undergrad management education. Read more

Ques. Which college is better for an operation management branch, JBIMS, S.P. Jain, or NITIE?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 18 Aug 21

Ans. If you have to choose between these three B-schools for Operations Management, go with NITIE. The college is well-known for its excellence in MBA Operations while JBIMS is known for Finance in particular.  Check the following table to know a basic comparison of these institutions: Particulars NITIE PGDIE JBIMS SP Jain Fees 11.33 lakhs 6.05 lakhs 17.5 lakhs Highest Package  44 LPA 34.36 LPA 46.45 LPA Average Package  20.85 LPA 22.84 LPA 26.06 LPA NITIE receives a lot of job opportunities than JBIMS or SP Jain. The scope of the Operations Management program is huge at NITIE Mumbai. Read more

Ques. Which college is better: NMIMS or SP Jain or new IIMs?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Ranjan on 09 Jul 21

Ans. Among all the given choices, SP Jain is definitely the best choice for an MBA, considering almost all relevant factors like exposure, placement, etc. The points below state the major key highlights of all the institutes. IIM Vizag is the fastest growing among all, and so considered the best among them. On the other hand, NMIMS is better than all baby IIMs and IITs. At last, SP Jain is better than NMIMS, and so it is the best choice among all these. Both SP Jain and NMIMS are situated in Mumbai, which is the financial capital of India. It provides huge industrial and corporate exposure in both institutes. NMIMS has a batch of about 500 students whereas SP Jain Mumbai has a batch strength of about 320 students. Being a high-profile-based institute, SP Jain accepts CAT and XAT scores. There are students with CAT or XAT scores as low as 85 percentile but have got an entry into SP Jain due to an excellent profile. Categories SP Jain Institute of Management and Research Course Fee 17.5 lakh Highest CTC 35 LPA Average CTC 15 LPA Recruiting Companies Amazon, Asian Paints, KPMG, ITC, etc. So, SP Jain is clearly the best choice among all, considering all relevant factors like campus life, batch size, location advantage, and placement.Read more

Ques. What are the chances of getting into XLRI/SPJIMR if I have 1.5 years of work experience that's not relevant to the MBA specialisation?

● Top Answer By Admin on 22 Jun 21

Ans. I have a friend who recently got admission to MDI Gurgaon. Through the conversations with him, I have gathered a lot of insights about the institute. So, I can guide you fairly with the query. A majority of students in MDI Gurgaon do not have any relevant work experience. Look at the table below for batch profile: Fresher 36% 1-12 Months 12% 13-24 Months 26% 25-36 Months 20% 36+ Months 6% Most of the students are freshers and have work experience between 1-2 years. The average work experience of the 2020 batch is 24 months. Having a work experience of 1.5 years will not give you any additional points. Even the recruiters club the candidates with work experience of fewer than two years and the freshers. A relevant work experience in your field of specialization can boost your profile. But you stand an equal chance like any other candidate.Read more
