Each day spent here was a learning experience for all of us. Along with this, I learned many other things related to my program. Also, the teachers were there to assist us with every situation. Moreover, the college also made us aware of all the newest and latest news which helped us to know more about current happenings in the B world.
My college days were so good that I still remember how we use to enjoy our classes as well as enjoy our days. Moreover the place really helped me to fetch good opportunities which eventually flourished my career with a good scope.
Ques. Which one should I choose, SIBM Pune or New IIMs like IIM Ranchi, Trichy, Udaipur, or Rohtak?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 02 Aug 21
Ans.SIBM Pune is a 40-year-old college and has a very good reputation among all the other private colleges. It has a very nice alumni base and hence a lot of companies prefer recruiting from here. When we look at the fee structure, it is quite high at SIBM as compared to the second-generation IIM.
On the other hand, the students of the second generation IIM will be almost a decade old when this new batch will pass out. They have the advantage of studying in the IIM which helps them in some parts of the other. They all have been placed in the main campuses of various firms and are ready to go forward.
The placements at SIBM are way better. Various companies that visit and offer the roles are more or less the same in the colleges mentioned above.Read more
Ques. Which college is good for MBA, Nirma University, Symbiosis Pune or Narsee Monjee Mumbai?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 17 Jul 21
Ans.It's not fair to put Nirma into the same category as NMIMS Mumbai and Symbiosis Pune. First and foremost, as many other students have remarked. As one of my friends studied at NMIMS, I would suggest you go for it.
Since under the SIU banner you did not name a particular college, I assume it is SIBM Pune.
The principal reason NMIMS scored over SIBM is its advantageous placement in Mumbai's financial centre.
It's an hour and a half drive from commercial and industrial areas like the Bandra Kurla Centre, Southern Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai. This allows students to go to high-profile companies such as SEBI, TOI, and JPMC for industrial trips.
Since NMIMS has more than 500 batch sizes, it continues to produce better average packages from other institutes in the same league.
The reputation and connection that NMIMS enjoys to the industry is a testimonial.
Zydus, Adani, Kotak, Axis Bank, etc.
Mindtree, Crisil, HSBC, Asian Paints, etc.
Berger, ICICI Bank, CitiBank, Hindustan Unilever, etc.
Over the years, NMIMS has demonstrated its success at national and international competitions. Some of the events in which our students have fared better with all the participants from the above-stated institutions include RB Mavericks, HUL Carpe Diem, and SABMiller's Brew-a-career.Read more
Ques. Which is best for MBA HR: SIBM Pune or NMIMS Mumbai or SCMHRD?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 16 Jul 21
Ans.The colleges that you have mentioned are quite old and reputed, leaving behind a history of a great placement record and a bright future.
Human Resources has become a promising field in today’s time. A good HR assures that the aspects of the business they work for proves to be fulfilled along with allowing the employees their own space wherein they give importance to the clients.
Based on certain parameters, allow me to compare all the three institutes so that it gets convenient to choose the B-School of your choice.
Crisil, HSBC, etc.
Berger, ITC, etc.
Mindtree, ICICI Bank, etc.
My suggestion would be to consider NMAT and even SNAP so that you get a better view to choose from. Some promising prospects are indeed offered by NMIMS and SIBM-P, but I believe you should go for that particular institute which is reputed for its HR department.Read more
Ques. What is better, to go for BBA+MBA integrated course from Nirma University or to do a simple BBA from Symbiosis or NMIMS?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 09 Jul 21
Ans.BBA from all of these institutes, Nirma University, Symbiosis, and NMIMS is good. It now depends on whether you are willing to go for an MBA immediately after your graduation or not.
If you want to do an MBA and not want to get into giving entrances again, then go for Nirma, it is a decent pick. If you feel you can study in the 2nd and 3rd year of your graduation for MBA entrance exams. Then go for BBA from NMIMS or Symbiosis.
BBA+MBA at Nirma University
BBA at Symbiosis
BBA at NMIMS
TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Bosch, etc.
KPMG, Deloitte, Wipro, TCS, etc.
IBM, IDFC, Tech Mahindra, HCL, etc.
One thing more to note is whether you can study 5 years at a stretch in the same place or not. BBA from any of the above 3 is a good option. It depends on the choice of pursuing an MBA.Read more
Ques. Which is the better college in both PIBM Pune and SIBM Pune in terms of placement, academics, and fees, structure-wise as well?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 28 Jun 21
Ans.PIBM Pune provides a strong foundation for a master’s degree in management. One of my close friends studied at PIBM Pune. According to him, most of the colleges in India focus on theoretical knowledge, but PIBM has a practice-based approach.
The Pune Institute of Business Management offers a strong foundation for people intending to pursue a master’s degree in management.
From the practical knowledge point of view, PIBM Pune is one of the best colleges in India to pursue a Master's degree.
PIBM gives students the opportunity to do two internships. PIBM also holds corporate events that bring in industry experts.
In addition, PIBM also conducts corporate events.
There are good companies here too, and they pay well too (i.e. 6-17 LPA depending on your performance).
Infosys, Mindtree, Nestle, Berger, etc.
Asian Paints, KPMG, Reliance, Loreal, etc.
PIBM has a strong foundation, as it has been in the business for a long and nurtures management leaders. PIBM offers a theoretical approach as well as a practical approach, and students are exposed to both facets of management.Read more
I am a part of the Admissions Team, SIBM Pune and hence an appropriate person to answer the question objectively considering various parameters.
SIBM Pune is a premier b-school in the country and has a host of advantages as follows:
Location advantages-The college is situated in Pune, which due to robust IT Infrastructure and close proximity to Mumbai, has its own advantages as most of the global firms have established their offices in Mumbai irrespective of the domains.
Student driven culture- The student council and SIG’s of SIBM Pune are responsible for undertaking the most critical activities ranging from conducting admissions to maintaining alumni or corporate relations to cultural events to placements with the guidance and support of the Director. The councils independently decide their course of events and plan them end to end along with preparing budgets and handling resources efficiently.
Placements- The official reports on Placements and Summer Internships are externally audited and is one of the few colleges that follow IPRS(Indian Placement Reporting Standards). Hence, I can vouch for the figures disclosed in the placement report. Every year, the outgoing batch’s average salary has been on a consistent rise. Last year the official average package offered was 17.48 lacs for the outgoing batch.
Batch Size- The Batch size is small, opening doors for more participation in college activities and genuine networking. The peer to peer learning both in and out of class makes the experience valuable and ensures genuine connections being formed both during and well after the course is completed.
Corporate Competitions- Competitions are a major differentiating factor between SIBM Pune and other colleges. SIBM Pune emerged as the only college that won maximum corporate competitions in 2018, beating the likes of IIM A, K, FMS or XLRI.. Be it HUL L.I.M.E, Carpe-diem, RB Global Challenge, Godrej Loud, Marico Over the Wall, Tata Steel-A-Thon, Nestle 4 P’s Challenge, Airtel iCreate, ABG HeasStart etc., the students have never failed to make a mark in the business world.
