Remarks :

It was a good learning experience for me overall and were the best 2 years of my college life.

Admission :

I got admission through CAT score, GD and PI as a part of admission procedure. The admissions usually happens between Feb to March every year. The final shortlist is released in about 15-20 days. I opted for this course because TAPMI is one of the leading and oldest B schools for PGDM course and would give me good exposure and knowledge to the practices followed in the large organisations at a managerial level.

Remarks :

TAPMI is an extremely strict college. You cant stay outside without permission. You have to come back every night by 1130. You cant miss more than 10% classes. These points can be positive for someone and negative for someone else. But if somone is joining TAPMI, he or she should be mentally prepares to dedicate 2 years for studies.

Ques. How is the career growth in a long run after a PGDM from Tapmi, Manipal?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 06 Aug 21

Ans. As long as you have the zeal to thrive in life, your career growth will be good. TAPMI, Manipal as an institution is nice and many good companies come during placements. I have a few friends from TAPMI, and they speak highly og the PGDM program offered by the institute. Here is a brief outline of the PGDM course. Placement Average  100% Average CTC  11 LPA Highest CTC  25 LPA Major recruiters  JP Morgan, Infosys, Airtel College is just a platform for learning managerial skills and get exposed to the corporate world. It largely depends on how you utilize the opportunity. Your career growth is not dependent on your merely joining a college. Your ability to make good decisions, your hard work, and your perseverance are keys to your steady career growth and success.Read more

Ques. What are my chances in FMS, MDI, and TAPMI if I have 92% in 10th, 80% in 12th, and 95% in graduation?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 05 Aug 21

Ans. FMS, MDI, and TAPMI are very good and reputed colleges and a student needs to be very good in academics to get admission to any of these colleges. FMS and MDI are ranked higher than TAPMI and with these scores, you will be easily able to get in the second round of selection for any of these colleges. For FMS, you will have to score 99 percentile in CAT as the overall percentage score of CAT for selection is 60% for FMS. For MDI, you will have to score 98 percentile in CAT for the flagship program, and the international business program scoring 95 percentile will be enough. For TAPMI, scoring 90 percentile will be good enough and with this score, you can expect to get a call from the college. After getting the call you will have to prepare yourself for the interview round which will be the major factor in whether you will get admission or not. You must practice a lot for this round and be clear with all the concepts and basics. Also, try to read newspapers and current affairs as these will help you a lot in your interview. Hence, with these scores, your chances of getting admission in FMS, MDI, or TAPMI are very good and so you must prepare for your interview round very well so that you can finally get admission to your desired college.Read more

Ques. Which is a preferred call: PGDM from TAPMI, or BIM Trichy? Interested in finance

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 05 Aug 21

Ans. Both TAPMI and BIM Trichy are very popular institutes and both of them are very good options to pursue PGDM. According to the reviews on the internet, both these colleges have their advantages. The infrastructure of TAPMI is very beautiful and has received accreditation from AACSB. There are also very experienced guest facilities visiting the college to give lectures to the students. The faculty of BIM are highly skilled & qualified and also has a focused study group with a batch size of 120. The alumni background of BIM is also very strong, especially in the finance department. Many students who have passed out from BIM are now working in top banks and PE firms heads across the world which clarifies how good this institution is. For the finance department, BIM has an advantage in academics and faculty compared to TAPMI. The placement scenario is also very good and it is similar for both of these colleges. Categories PGDM at TAPMI PGDM at BIM Trichy Course Fee 15.1 lakh 92.14 K Highest CTC 18-20 LPA 22-25 LPA Average CTC 11-12 LPA 9-10 LPA Recruiting Companies KPMG, Asian Paints, Mercedes, Adobe, etc. ICICI Bank, CitiBank, Nestle, Loreal, etc. Hence, both these colleges are very options to pursue PGDM but for the finance sector, BIM Trichy can be a better option as its faculty members are very talented and have a better alumni network.Read more

Ques. Which is a better option for marketing, TAPMI PGDM or FORE PGDM?

● Top Answer By Sandhya R on 05 Aug 21

Ans. Both TAPMI and FORE are very reputed institutions and are very good choices to pursue PGDM. As some of my friends studied in the above-mentioned colleges, I can provide some facts that might be useful for you while making a decision. FORE is situated in Delhi which is an added advantage as this is the capital city and has better facilities and easy access to all parts of the country. This also attracts a lot more companies to visit the campus for interviews. The total seats available in TAPMI is 455 and in FORE it is 420 (180 for PGDM, 120 for IB, 60 for FM, 60 for BDA). So, the competition will be less in FORE and the students will get more opportunities. Also FORE doesn't have any restrictions on placements, so any student from any stream can sit for all campus interviews. FORE has better connections in the corporate industry and has a better alumni network which is another advantage over TAPMI. Categories PGDM at TAPMI PGDM at FORE Course Fee 15.1 lakhs 15.98 lakhs Highest CTC 18-20 LPA 25 LPA Average CTC 11-12 LPA 16 LPA Recruiting Companies KPMG, Asian Paints, Mercedes, Adobe, etc. American Express, HSBC, Barclays, Mindtree, etc. Hence, both the colleges are very good options to pursue PGDM, but FORE has some added advantages over TAPMI like better location and alumni which can be very beneficial for you.Read more

Ques. NIBM Pune or Tapmi Manipal. Which would be a better choice?

● Top Answer By Monika on 05 Aug 21

Ans. Having known some people studying in both these institutes, I can say that both NIBM and Tapmi Manipal are very good and popular institutes. Let me share some details about the colleges I gathered from them. NIBM (National Institute of Bank Management) Pune : This is an autonomous apex institute established by RBI and banks. Its course curriculum has been designed by the top management of banks. It is also regularly updated with the current changes and trends in the financial world. The faculty is talented and well experienced in their fields. They also provide practical training for students. The placements are also good. TAPMI Manipal : This is also a very popular institute that is approved by AICTE and is recognized by AIU. They provide international collaboration of students and also have faculty exchange programs with top institutions. They promise 100% placements to their students. Categories NIBM Pune TAPMI Manipal Course Fee 10.38 lakh 15.1 lakh Highest CTC 16-19 LPA 18-20 LPA Average CTC 10-12 LPA 11-12 LPA Recruiting Companies ITC, Tanishq, Vivo, Berger, etc. KPMG, Asian Paints, Mercedes, Adobe, etc. Hence, both of these colleges are very good and provide very good placements to their students but it completely depends on your interests. If you are interested in the finance and marketing sectors then you should go for TAPMI as MBA from this college has more weightage. But if you are interested in the banking sector and ROI is important for you then you should probably choose NIBM.Read more
