Hooghly women’s college was established in 1949. The college is located in Hooghly, West Bengal and it is the first women college of the district. The college was affiliated to the Calcutta University up to 1962 and after that college got its affiliation from University of Burdwan. Hooghly Women's College has been awarded B++ grade by NAAC. It is also UGC recognized.

Hooghly Women's College UG Admission 2023

As per norms of the Burdwan University, all candidates (Including reserve category) should have at least 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level. B.Sc. (Hons) applicants who are willing to take Botany and Zoology in Geography as combination subjects must score 40% in Biology at 10+2 level and if applicant is willing to go for Mathematics and Physics they must score 40% in Mathematics at 10+2 level. Also if the concerned subject has not been taught at 10+2 level, marks of the allied subjects will be considered for preparing the merit list.
