The placement and job opportunities of our college were good. More than 90% of the students were placed and companies like Amazon, Cognizant, Infosys, etc visited our college for placement. They also provide internships for the students as well.

Ques. Is there anyone who remains unplaced from old IIM, XLRI, FMS Delhi, and NITIE? Is it possible to be?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 11 Aug 21

Ans. The Official placement statistics show a 100% placement rate on paper. But the scenario might differ in accordance with the circumstances of the student and the institute. There are several students who do not secure placement offers either due to a very poor academic profile or because they have planned to pursue some other direction. You should understand that if there are offers beyond 300, with students counting to almost 200, then it is not right to accuse the institute because of students who remain unplaced. The college does not actually promise placement, it will only offer you opportunities. The institutes you named definitely provide multiple offers to the students, despite which few students remain unplaced.Read more

Ques. What are my chances of converting an XLRI call with a 99.9 percentile if I assume my GD/PI are going to be average?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Ranjan on 28 Jul 21

Ans. The XAT score acceptance for the selection amounts to about 60%, and if one includes the other essentials checked as part of the profile like Essays, GK, Academics, Work Experience, etc; that comes to 15%. The GD/PI round amounts to 25%. However, the bottom 10% score received in GD/PI rounds may not be considered for final selection. If you score a 97 percentile and someone scores a 99 percentile then clearly the topper with the 60% XAT score will sail through with ease. When evaluated further, the 97 percentile means that that your XAT score is about 45% and the other students are 60%, so there is a margin of 15%, hence the advantage of the topper is clearly visible by the 9% rise. It will finally come down to the GDPI score which has a 25% weightage. The 9% advantage of the topper student will be a challenge to overcome, and for that, you must excel in this round because the topper, most probably, will prepare averagely for the interview. All the top B-schools, except FMS, emphasize the PI score during the selection process so that even the top candidates get rejected based on their profiles and scores.Read more

Ques. Is 65% in graduation enough for XLRI provided that I get a good XAT score, and perform well on the GD/PI?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Ranjan on 26 Jul 21

Ans. In most cases, XLRI interviewers don’t give much attention to the previous academic scores. But, if you are a low scorer, then the institute usually expects a better XAT score and a good enough profile. The points below state the requirements that you should meet in order to secure a seat at XLRI It is true that cracking XAT and having an excellent score is somewhat difficult than cracking CAT. There are additional data manipulation questions asked in XAT, other than basic questions. You need to prepare a lot in order to have a decent score in XAT. Every student should study with an interest in what he/she is gaining. Solving puzzles, attempting previous year’s XAT verbal questions, understanding the pattern of the exam, etc is what students need to indulge in. If you have an average score in graduation, then it cannot be changed anymore. So, it is advised to have at least 97 percentile in XAT to expect a call from XLRI. Therefore, although XAT is tough, students need to prepare with their full enthusiasm in order to succeed in getting a good score. Having a good score in XAT and performing well in the interviews is enough for you to get a seat in XLRI.Read more

Ques. Can anyone share their XLRI GD & PI experiences?

● Top Answer By Savi Sharma on 13 Jul 21

Ans. Considering the excellent reputation of XLRI, the interviews of XLRI are also equally interesting. The points below are based on the interview experience of my brother, who was a 2016 candidate for the XLRI HRM program. My brother was called for the morning slot, along with 10 other candidates. They were made to wait for 30 minutes and then called for group discussion. In the GD round, all candidates sat with pens and papers in their hands. There were two panelists for the GD, who were professors of XLRI. The topic for GD was “Money is the sole factor for progress and promotion at the workplace”. The pattern of GD followed was a structured outcome of pros, cons, and some implementation issues related to the topic. In the PI round, the first question was where he is from. This was followed by some questions related to the cleanliness of the city, i.e. – Allahabad. The next question was about his work experience in Infosys, starting from the requirement of training in companies. Followed by that, he was asked about the need for engineering and the use of the knowledge gained in the university After 25 minutes of questioning, the panelists became quiet and said the interview is over. Even a panelist stood up and fetched a glass of water for my brother. In the end, the panelists praised him for having a charming personality and having a lot of energy and enthusiasm. During the entire interview, there was a lot of grilling, disbelief, contempt, sarcasm, etc which my brother had to face, followed by a smooth last-minute talk. To conclude, he got a straight convert into the HRM program at XLRI.Read more

Ques. How can a B.A. graduate (English language and literature) get admission in IIMs or XLRI?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 07 Jul 21

Ans. Basically, for IIMs you need to appear for the CAT (Common Admission Test) exam which is the national level entrance exam conducted all over India. Usually, the dates with the entire notification regarding CAT release in the last week of August and the exam takes place normally in the last week of November or the first week of December. After the announcement of results in January, if you qualify for the cut-off score, you get a call from the IIMs for further group discussion and personal interviews. To get into XLRI, you need to appear for XAT by qualifying which means you can get admission in any of the XLRI among 11 institutes. This exam is usually conducted in January for getting admission in the institutes. Now coming to the preparations, if you are confused regarding the syllabus or from which portion you should start preparing, firstly carry out the research regarding the syllabus and go ahead with your preparation. You can even join the coaching classes specially designed for management exams so that you get the right direction for your preparation or else you can attend the mock tests series so that you get a real glimpse of the paper. Following the above strategy, you can crack the exams and get admission in IIMs or XLRI depending on your choice.Read more
