Jagannath Kishore College, also known as the J K College was established in 1948. At present, the college offers 19 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The courses offered at the college include BA, B.Sc, B.Com, MA, etc. (both Hons and General). The admission for all streams is strictly based on the merit obtained in the previous qualifying examination. The minimum percentage required for the major courses is 50% marks in all the subjects.

J K College Admission

The admission for any course of any stream at J.K. College is strictly based on the merit obtained in the previous qualifying examinations. The merit list will be calculated from the aggregate of the best 4 subjects in the 10+2 examination. The candidate must secure at least 45% to be eligible for the admission. 

The admission process is conducted through an ‘Online Admission System’ in all streams. The students are required to go through the counseling process. Admission will be made on the day of counseling after submitting the requisite amount of fees and documents.

  • Fill the form and submit a registration fee of INR 100 
  • The college will display a merit list of selected candidates on the website. These candidates shall appear at the college on the day of counseling.
  • The admission is confirmed on the day of counseling so the candidates should appear with the required documents for verification after which they can pay the fees and confirm their admission.

J K College Facilities

Some of the facilities offered by the college include: 

  • Library: The library spreads over 2860 square feet. It contains a rich collection of 55,365 books (Text Books and Reference) and E-resources: N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) consortium of INFLIBNET. The library subscribes to 42 (print) journals and 12 newspapers. 
  • Hostel: There are a total of 4 hostels: 3 for boys and 1 for girls. Another hostel has also been built for girls, although admissions have not yet begun. 
  • Sports: Jagannath Kishore College has an indoor sports complex which includes Gymnasium and facilities for sports like Badminton, Volleyball, Table Tennis along a stage. 
  • Other facilities include a canteen, well-equipped science and language laboratories, excellent seminar halls with all the IT facilities, computer facilities and smart classrooms.

Ans. The college does not have a placement cell. It does not provide any on-campus placement or internship. However, the career counseling cell of the college helps the students to secure jobs after completion of their studies.

Ans. Due to the nominal fee structure, the college does not offer any scholarship or education loan. However, one can always apply for various government/non-government scholarships for eg- Kayashree, Vivekananda scholarship, etc. The government provides various types of scholarships to students from SC/ ST/ OBC categories.
