PSGCT Admission 2021: Courses, Eligibility, Selection, Intake, Important Dates

PSG College of Technology offers both B.E. and B.Tech courses under a number of specializations. The elaborated details are given below:

The institute offers 15 specializations for B.Tech (full time), 1 specialization for B.Tech (Part time) and 3 specialization for B.Tech (Sandwich).

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have passed in class XII examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Selection Criteria

• The applicants are allocated seats based on TNEA Counselling and scores obtained in 10+2. 
• B.Tech/BE selection cut offs are released by Anna University based on TNEA.
• The respective college prepares the merit list accordingly and offers admission to students.

How To Apply for TNEA?

Eligible students can apply for TNEA by following the given steps for registration, with a fee of INR 500 (for general category) and INR 250 (for reserved category):

• Visit the official website of TNEA and click on the “Online Registration” link.
• Candidates need to first register by creating a login ID and password through an OTP verification. 
• After the registration, candidates can log in with their username and password.
• Candidates will have to fill in personal details, academic qualifications, etc.
• After filling the application form online, candidates can preview the details entered.
• The application form should be submitted along with the fee and a printout should be taken.

The college offers B.Sc in two specialisations. Admission requirements are given below:

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. The candidates must have scored at least 45-50% in their 10+2 level.

Selection Criteria

• Selection is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination for Applied Sciences.
• For Computer System and Design is done on the basis of Online Examination in Mathematics conducted by the institute.

The candidates will be shortlisted for the admission based on entrance scores and scores in graduation..

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have passed B.E. or B.Tech or equivalent degree in the respective branches of Engineering and Technology from any recognized university with 50% aggregate.

Selection Criteria

• The candidate will be shortlisted based on the candidate GATE or TANCET entrance score and the seat of the M.Tech program will be filled.
• Seats would be allocated based on the TANCA Counselling.
• The shortlisted candidates further will be called upon for document verification at the time of admission.

Admission Process

Students who qualify for the GATE exam can directly apply through TANCA for admissions. 

How to Apply for GATE?

The applications are accepted through the official website of GOAPS. Where the applicant must register first to create a new registration using one unique email id. 

Documents Required

• Scanned photograph and signature 
• Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/Voter ID/College ID/Employee Identification Card/Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address).
• Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Course Completion Certificate.
• Copy of mark sheet of V /VI /VII semester.
• Final year students must submit Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Dept.
• Candidates in the final year of AMIE have to submit their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications.
• Caste Certificate/Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable).
• Candidates pursuing a higher degree or masters have to submit the qualifying degree certificate.

PSG College offers both MBA and PGDM, details of which have been elaborated below: 

Eligibility 

Candidates must have scored at least 50% aggregate in bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline. 

Selection Criteria

The students are selected based on their:

• Scores in TANCET.
• Aggregate in bachelor’s degree.
• Performance in the PI or GD round.
• Final seat allocation based on TANCA Counselling.

Eligibility Criteria

Any Degree in Engineering / Technology /Commerce / Computer Applications /Banking / Business Administration /Science with Mathematics or B.C.A. or B.Sc. (Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Systems/ Computer Technology and Design / Information Systems)

Selection Criteria

Selection for admission depends upon:

• Scores obtained in the previous qualifying examination.
• Scores in TANCET entrance.
• Final seat allocation by TANCA based on the combined scores in UG and in entrance.

M.Tech/ME, MBA/PGDM & MCA Admission Process

Admission to these above given courses are offered through TANCA. The counseling dates vary for every course. Read on to find more details of the counseling.

How to register for TANCA Counseling? 

• Candidates have to register through online mode at the Web portal.
• They must enter an active mobile number and email ID.
• Enter relevant personal and educational details 
• Choose the save/submit button.
• Preview the forms and make changes, if required.
• Finally, click submit and save button to make an online fee payment.

Documents Required

Candidates have to upload scanned images of the following given documents while registering for TANCA counseling: 

• Mark sheets of X, XII or Diploma (3 years) Certificate
• Qualifying Degree certificate, provisional certificate and mark sheets of all semesters or Consolidated mark sheet. 
• Transfer certificate from the institution last studied
• Valid GATE score card and TANCET hall ticket for GATE qualified category
• Certificate of Disability
• Nativity Certificate only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate. (if applicable)
• Copy of identification certificate obtained from the HeadQuarters Tahsildar or Visa, Passport and letter registered in Police Station (For Srilankan Refugee candidates)
• Experience Certificate (if applicable)

PSGCT offers M.Sc in one specialisation - Applied Mathematics and Integrated M.Sc. in four specializations.

Eligibility Criteria

M.Sc: Pass in B.Sc. (Mathematics/ Applied Science Mathematics with Computer Application) or equivalent examination

M.Sc Integrated: 

• Theoretical Computer Science; Software Systems & Data Science: 10+2 from any recognized board with Mathematics and Physics as two compulsory subjects
• Fashion Design & Manufacturing: 10+2 examination from recognized board 

Selection Criteria

• Theoretical Computer Science; Software Systems & Data Science: Online Test based on HSC Mathematics followed by an interview.
• Fashion Design & Manufacturing; M.Sc.: Based on merit or scores obtained in the previous qualifying examination.

PSG College of Technology offers MS & Ph.D. courses in all departments. Details are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

Master's degree in M.E/M.Tech. or M.S. (By Research) in the relevant branch of Engineering or Technology

Selection Criteria

• All candidates are required to appear for an entrance exam conducted by Anna University.
• Applicants who qualify for national level entrances like GATE or UGC-NET or JRF or SET, etc are exempted from appearing for the internal entrance.
• Students will be called for a written test and personal interview if they qualify the eligibility criteria and/or the national level entrance.
