What students say about Vishwakarma Institute of Technology

Likes

  • Because of my interest in robotics and electronics, I chose the ENTC course, and VIT is one of the best colleges in Pune that offers this course.
  • The best part about college is that it provides you with an on-campus internship, and you basically just have to showcase your skills to have the internship in your pocket.
  • Our college is one of the best colleges for placement in Maharashtra. Every year, a lot of companies visit our college and hire many students. Our college also provides internships.
  • TFWS is for those students who obtain good marks in MHT-CET and JEE mains, and there are many scholarship exams. Those who want to appear for this exam must crack its entrance exam.
  • There is an annual function named VISHVAKRNDAK that is very nice and lasts for 5 days.
  • The hostel mess food quality is excellent, and the menu is packed with delicious dishes.
  • VIT College in Pune is the best college for engineering, with experienced teaching faculty. It also provides good placement opportunities for students in all branches.

Dislike

  • Our college does not provide any scholarships or loans. This is a major problem for students, as our college is very expensive and many students parents cannot afford it.
  • There is no ground, no parking, and the wifi is very slow. However, the library is ok and the equipment in labs is also ok.
  • The college does not have its own hostel. The hostel situated near the college is about 5km away.
  • The positive remark is that college is cool, and the negative is that there is no sports ground for any sports, and they should hire good staff for teaching.

Placement Experience:

Students are mainly eligible for placements from 3rd year ie 6 semesters. TCS, UBS, Siemens PLM, and Wipro are some companies that visit on regular basis. The average package was 5.7lacks which is now 5.94 lacs for E&TC and the highest package was 27 lacs. The percentage of students placed was around 88% last year and 32% from 3rd-year students.

Remarks:

The admission process was well planed and step-wise. I was admitted through MHT-CET marks. The First collected every one in the Seminar hall and many teachers were there to guide us. they first told us to arrange our documents and also upload them on a specific college link. Further, they send each student for the admission process and only one person was allowed. They gave importance to verifying documents first and fees were given as the last preference. I didn't get any reservation benefit but I do get a government scholarship EWS.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is btech computer science. I always had a thing for computers and so I chose this field. The first year is common for all branches and all the branch students are mixed and alloted classes till the second sem. In the third sem, the classes are alloted according to batches but still, the course syllabus is the same for the third sem too. My college has a great staff, and highly trained and educated professionals who help us through this journey and guide us for our project. Vit Pune is an autonomous college that is it governs itself it has the whole autonomy over when and how to take exams, here most of the marks are given to projects, assignments, and attendance, and the theory portion is given very less weightage so passing the exam is not at all difficult.

Remarks:

The admission to college is mainly on the basis of two entrance exams 1.MHTCET 2.JEE The mhtcet score is more preferred than the jee score for this college. The eligibility was same as any other engineering college like entrance exam marks and 12th STD maths. The application form can be found on the mhtcet website. One has to apply for cet and if the cutoff is cleared by the student (which changes every year) He or she can apply to the college through counseling done by the cet cell itself. You can avail cast reservations.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internships after 4th semester. Companies are not too frequent in the start but they do come to offer even PPO. The highest package varies every year last year it was around 33 LPA and the average package is 6-7 LPA. 80 percent of students get placed. I want to have my own startup after college.

Remarks:

Jee Mains is the only Admission criteria for OMS category students. The college participates in CAP Maharashtra counseling, students need to apply there only. I am in a general category so there are no reservations or scholarship benefits. I think for the OMS category, CET should also be considered.

Placement Experience:

Students get eligible for placements from the sixth semester of the academic year. Many companies like Paytm, Jio, and NVIDIA hire from our college campus and the average package for IT was around 6-7 LPA. The placement percentage is around 85-90%.

Remarks:

The admission process was fairly simple, you can get admission through jee percentile or mhtcet score. The application form, fees, and dates can be found in the college office on campus or the website.

From 3 rd year, students get the eligibility for the internship and placement JPMorgan and many big tech giants come for the selection in the placement cell The highest offer given last year was around 42 lacs per year and is given by JPMorgan. The average package of the students given is around 800000 per year For further details, you can visit to the official website of vit pune.

Remarks:

The eligibility criteria for the course of btech in Artificial Intelligence and data science at Vishwakarma Institute of Technology is: min 96%tile according to the year 2022 in the MHTCET examination conducted by the state govt of Maharashtra An applicant is allowed to fill the form from the CET CELL website of the Maharashtra govt available in chrome or any other browser The min application fee is approx 800 + bank charges There are reservation benefits in this exam as per the govt norms and reserved seat criteria for the other state candidates which you can access on the govt web page The admission process is slow compared to jossa council and takes time for the completion of the admission

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is information Technology I choose this because I want to be in an IT company. And this course provides me with a path to that. Faculty students ratio is very nice in our college. All the faculties are highly literate like PhD holders, professors, etc

Remarks:

Firstly we need to prepare for any engineering entrance exam like jee or mhtcet for Maharashtra then after coming of results we apply for college and Then after paying the fee we get admitted to college. Also, there is a huge variety in fees for different categories of students.

Placement Experience:

The college has a dedicated training and placement cell which has the best result so far. In recent years college is more computer-specific which is why IT companies are the main focus of TPO cells. But there are various core companies that provide higher packages as well as career opportunities.

Remarks:

The admission process was based on mainly two exams i.e., JEE and CET. I cleared my cut-off for mechanical engineering which was 97 percentile in CET. As soon as one completes his/her registration, one can apply through cap rounds. You can get the reservations through the center as well as the state govt for EWS, OBC, SC, ST, TFWS, etc.
