What students say about Loyola College

Likes

  • They will update the course curriculum every 3 years. Now, I have heard that they are changing the course curriculum, which would also be the best in the city. They will address the practical problems in the course curriculum.
  • I have done my internship in one of the leading art galleries. It was a very good experience.
  • According to the words of senior students and graduates of the college, the placement here is excellent.
  • There are lots of scholarship programs available and can be inquired about in detail at the office.
  • One of the best colleges in India which gives importance to extracurricular activities like sports, dance, and singing.
  • Loyola has a boys as well as a girls hostel. It has the best infrastructure at an affordable price. There are veg and non-veg canteen facilities for the students. It provides 24x7 water and electricity services to the students.
  • My college, Loyola, has been there for more than 80 years, and they are the best arts college in Chennai.

Dislike

  • They only had classroom sessions and were mostly taught an outdated syllabus, despite the changing economy and laws of India.
  • Internships were scheduled in the course curriculum, so there was no need to search for one.
  • The job opportunities were very few and the selection process is very tough, even interviewing people who have had difficulties in exams.
  • They offered a fee concession for some impoverished students and waived fees for extremely impoverished students.
  • I have availed the midday meals scheme, which is provided for poor students in the hostel mess.
  • Overall, I think the potential for the college is really good. However, the major downsides include bad faculty, an outdated syllabus and older, ineffective methods of traditional learning. Additionally, the poor management is also quite depressing.

Placement Experience:

From the 5th semester the students at eligible for the placements. The students with standing no backlogs are eligible for placements. The average salary package offered is around 4.5 LPA. Last year around 60 percent of students get placed.

Remarks:

The eligibility of my course is 12th passed in the commerce group with 50 percent. For taking admission through counseling the cutoff will be higher. The application form can be found online and offline at the administration office.
