Arambagh Girls College, though formally established in 1995, had its genesis much earlier in the dreams of a handful of local visionaries committed to the cause of women’s education. The college caters solely to women learners in a semi-urban sub- divisional town with a predominantly agriculture-based economy, where educating girls was not a priority.

Library

The college has an ample stock of books, separate reading rooms for teachers and students and subscribes to a few reputed and peer-reviewed journals for the enrichment of the teachers. Some of the good practices of the library include maintenance of Daily Footfall Registers for teachers and students, keeping a suggestion / Book Recommendation Box to get students feedback on its facilities and maintenance of a separate collection of Career-oriented books, journals and newspapers.

Computer Training:

The college introduced computer training for its students and after the completion of the course certificates are provided.

National Service Scheme

NSS it is organised by the students and teachers for the welfare of the nation.It includes Awareness campaigns on social issues,Campus cleanliness and beautification drives,Annual Camps,Observance of important days.

Medical Aid

The college has Student Health Home (Arambagh Regional Centre) in which nominal fee of Rs. 10/ is charged from each student during admission to provide medical aid benefit to the students.

Anti-Ragging Committee

As per the directives of the Supreme Court of India, the college has set up a committee which will take appropriate action if any improper conduct / act is brought to its notice.

Grievance Redressal Cell

The Grievance Redressal Cell attempts to address genuine problems and complaints of students in a drop box.
