Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB) is a constituent of Symbiosis International University. SIIB Pune offers MBA in multiple specializations viz. International Business, Agri-Business, and Energy and Environment. The flagship program of the institute is MBA-IB. A total of 210 seats are available for different MBA specializations, 120 for MBA (IB), 60 for MBA (AB), and 30 seats for MBA (E&E). SIIB Admission for 2023-25 has begun. Admission to SIIB Pune MBA is done through the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) conducted by the institute. Last date to register for SNAP is November 24, 2022. However, the final selection will depend upon the GE-PI-WAT process which includes Group Exercise, Personal Interview, and Written Ability Test.

Foreign candidates can also apply for admission to the MBA program at SIIB. It is mandatory for the candidates to have a valid passport and Visa. English Proficiency Test is mandatory for foreign students. The student has an option to either appear for IELTS or IELA.

SIIB MBA Admission 2023

SIIB offers a 2 year specialized MBA programs namely MBA-International Business (IB), MBA-Agri-Business (AB) and MBA-Energy, and Environment (E&E). The intake capacity of MBA (IB) is 120 while it is 60 & 30 for MBA (AB) and MBA (E&E).

Further, MBA - IB offers the following 4 specializations:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Human Resource

SIIB MBA Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a Graduation Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% for SC/ST candidates)
  • Final year students can also apply but their admission will be provisional and subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying exam.

Eligibility for Foreign/NRI Candidates 

  • Candidates must have obtained more than 60% as a qualifying grade in Graduation (in the case of Postgraduate programs).
  • Also, they must have appeared for an English Proficiency Test conducted by the British Council (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6 or the IELA Test with a minimum band of 3.
  • Foreign candidates/NRI/PIO/OCI must have a valid passport and Visa. 

NOTE

  1. A candidate who has completed a qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from AIU.
  2. The candidates must confirm if they possess the required qualifications for admission while applying for provisional admission.
  3.  Students with any sort of backlogs / fail in their final results will not be eligible for admission.

SIIB MBA Selection Criteria

  • Applicants who will secure a valid score in the SNAP test are shortlisted by the Symbiosis Institute of International Business. Know more about SNAP Pattern & Syllabus.
  • After shortlisting, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the GE-PI-WAT process for selection.
  • GE-PI-WAT process is held at the SIIB Pune campus. 
  • Thus, the final selection comprises SNAP test scores and performance in GE, PI, and WAT rounds.
  • Those who are selected will receive an email from the institute informing them about their selection.

The weightage for the final selection is tabulated below:

Selection Criteria for NRI students:

  • Graduation Transcripts - 80% weightage
  • Entrance Test (SNAP/GMAT) - 10% weightage

  • Two Letters of Recommendation - 5% weightage

Students applying under the NRI category don’t have to appear for the English Proficiency Test (IELA/IELTS Examination).

Selection Criteria For FN/PIO/OCI Students:

  • Graduation Transcripts - 90% weightage
  • Statement of Purpose - 5% weightage
  • Two Letters of Recommendation - 5% weightage

Students applying as FN/PIO/OCI have to appear for the English Proficiency Test (IELTS/IELA examination)

NOTE - 

  1. Foreign National students are required to pay the application fee along with the administrative fee after the receipt of the pre-offer letter.
  2. Final verification of original documents will be done at the time of admission.
  3. NRI students with SNAP or GMAT scores will get an extra weightage of 10%.

How to Apply for SIIB Pune MBA Course?

The candidates interested to apply for admission to SIIB Pune need to register first for the SNAP test and then for the MBA course. The steps to apply are listed below:

  1. Visit the official website of SIIB Pune.
  2. Click on the “Apply” tab.
  3. After that click on the “Register” tab.
  4. Fill in all the details and click on the “Submit” button.
  5. After successful registration, Pay the registration fee of INR 1750/- for the SNAP Test.
  6. Then, register for the institute’s course (SIIB, Pune MBA) using SNAP ID and Password
  7. Fill in all the required details
  8. Lastly, pay the application fee of INR 1950/- for whichever specialization you desire.

As per the norms of government, there are a certain number of seats reserved for different categories in all specializations of MBA at SIIB. The following table displays the reservation criteria of the institute:

Admission:

Throughout 10th/12th/Graduation you require 50%. You have to appear for the SNAP exam and forms are available on Symbiosis University's website. Only SC and ST reservations are there. The process of admissions is very smooth and simple.
