What students say about Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute - [VJTI]

Likes

  • Being admitted to VJTI college was a plus point for me, as it has one of the best faculty members who guide you in the best possible way.
  • It was a good learning experience to have an industry internship. For the internship, the placement rate was almost 100% at that time. The stipend was 15000/- per month.
  • I didnt apply for placement, but VJTI is one of the top and best colleges in terms of placement and ranking.
  • There are many scholarships run by the college which give brilliant students the chance to earn.
  • There are separate hostels for boys and girls, the labs are very good, and well-maintained discipline is found.
  • No, since I was a local candidate, there was no need for hostel facilities, as they were primarily reserved for undergraduate students.
  • It is the best college in Mumbai after IIT, due to the environment and culture.

Dislike

  • Worst (some say, because of COVID-19), some companies come, and some students are placed, but mostly unsatisfactory.
  • The gender ratio is not good. The gender ratio is 10:2. There are fewer girls in the mechanical and computer branches.
  • Hostel seats are limited, and if you dont get one, you may have to live in rooms with a group of 3-6 people, paying around 6k per member per month (since its Mumbai and accommodation is at its worst here).
  • College management is good. The only drawback is the bad infrastructure. However, despite the inadequate facilities, it still remains the number one college in Maharashtra.

Placement Experience:

Best placements in Maharashtra are offered at VJTI ( second to IITB ofc). We become eligible for campus internships in the 5th sem and for campus placements, in the 7th sem. Most people get a Pre-placement offer directly after their internships. Specifically speaking of CS and IT, all 100% are placed this year. The rest of the placements are still going on, with an overall 80% already placed.

Remarks:

This is a govt autonomous college, so the admission process is strictly through CAP rounds. No management quota. The college accepts only MHT-CET scores, JEE not valid for admission in VJTI. You generally need to have at least 99.8+ percentile for CS-IT branch ( open category).

Placement Experience:

The placements are very good for Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, East. Students are eligible for internships from Third Year and you might get Pre Placement offer depending on how you perform in the company. A lot of companies visit the campus for placement and the offers can be anywhere from 62 LPA to 5 LPA.

Remarks:

The admission process was very smooth. Being one of the premier engineering institutes in India, you need to crack MHT-CET first with the best marks (good marks is not an option). After the results are out, you need to fill up the application forms online for the colleges you wish to enroll in. Rest all processes can be learned from the site itself. The site is very user-friendly.

Placement Experience:

The percentage of students who are placed in our college is almost 100%. We will get offers from service-based and as well as product-based companies from our college. My seniors were even placed in a good company with package 20 LPA.

Remarks:

You need to have above the 99 percentile to get VJTI college. For those who want to get admission in the direct second year should have above 94 percent. Admission is taken through the CAP process only. Therefore one must have the required percentage.
