Institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology, Kurukshetra is a unit of the Kurukshetra University in Haryana organized  as a completely separate journalism department in 1993. There was only one course offered by this department initially and it was Masters of Arts in Mass Communication or MMAC, but the department was upgraded to Institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology in the year 2006.
