What students say about Maitreyi College

Likes

  • I chose this course because I want to clear the UPSC/Civil Services Exam, and the syllabus or the course structure provided by the college is quite helpful for UPSC preparation.
  • There were some internships and projects which are the best for your call on the way to the person who is the best person in the world with you, your family, friends, and family members at the time.
  • It is ok with my course, but very good for the commerce and arts section.
  • The good thing about our college and the entire Delhi University is the fees.
  • The annual fest Rhapsody is one of the best fests among all DU colleges, where every year many renowned personalities visit and interact with us.
  • I still miss it, and whenever Im around that area, I make sure to get it packed for myself and my family.
  • Its a great experience to be a part of Maitreyi College, a star college and one of the best colleges in South Campus.

Dislike

  • College provided too few opportunities for job placements. They didnt organize many events to help us secure jobs. Furthermore, there is no guarantee of obtaining a job through college; its simply impossible to say. However, we did manage to find jobs.
  • There are few scholarships available for students whose income is low. Guidelines for the scholarships are released every year

Placement Experience:

Internships are mostly in the field of marketing and alot of them are unpaid however placement cell has now been dedicated to working on bringing more paid opportunities. Placement cell is very active in the job market, companies like pwc, EY and other big men's do come for recruitment but vacancies are very less

Remarks:

There was no entrance for ba economics hons however it required the student to have done mathematics at +2 level and the core subject of economics. the eligibility was done through cut-off lists via cbse results. Applications are done on the university of delhi portal.

Placement Experience:

Our college offers placement on a half-yearly basis. And there's no specific semester for applying anyone can apply. Also companies like Maggie, and Panasonic visit for campus placement. I'm planning to pursue a master so I didn't apply for placement right away.

Remarks:

our batches admissions process was different. Till 2019 DU UG was completely merit-based but now it is under CUET. Eligibility of Political Science honours was 55% aggregate in 10+2 but now it's one should qualify the Common University Entrance Test and then according to the merit and cut off the college would be alloted. CUET's application is open currently till 12th March 2023.

Placement Experience:

You become eligible for placement from the 3rd year. a total of 60% of the students get placed overall but in my course, only 25.79% of students got a job offer from different companies. Around 355+ no. of companies were on board for job opportunities. 70+ unique profiles were offered to the students. The highest Package was offered by Microsoft for 15 lakhs per annum and the average CTC ranges between 4-5 lakhs. some eye-catching companies were Vedantu, Urban Company, Deloitte, Mamaearth, HCL, Chegg, etc. My plan after college is to apply abroad for further study.

Remarks:

When I seek for admission, it was based on a merit list. Delhi University college issues many cuts off and if your merit satisfies the cut-off of a particular college you can apply for admission. For the application Form and fees kindly go through the Delhi university official page. Dates of the applications are announced on a prior basis so keep an eye on the college's official pages. the online admission process is hassle-free.
