- Candidates who have secured 75% marks in the relevant Engineering degree program or have scored a 90% percentile in GATE can apply for the Ph.D. program
- The institute has a provision to offer admission on a provisional basis to students who are in their final year of the degree course and are awaiting results.
- The written test for Ph.D. programs is of 90 minutes duration.
- If a candidate has completed his M.Phil. degree, he/she is exempted from appearing in the written entrance examination for Ph.D
